Harriet Miers and Exodus Ministries
Edited on Mon Oct-03-05 08:19 AM by usregimechange
Harriet Miers was a board member of:

EXODUS Ministry, Inc.
Former Member, Board
http://pview.findlaw.com/view/2172806_1?&channel=LP

"As a ministry to these individuals, EXODUS is a place where ex-offenders learn how faith in Christ is the first step from captivity to freedom."

http://www.exodusministriesinc.com/exodus.htm

This group, seems to be non-radical though and are not the same as the anti-gay hate group, Exodus International. Anyone confirm that they are not affiliated?

2. Sorry, but I'm not likely to cut many breaks...

...to anyone that thinks referring to me or mine as an "offender" is somehow "moderate".

ON EDIT: Actually, looks as if this is a ministry to ex-prisoners... Another faith-based initiative, but I'm not personally offended.

4. How should one refer to people who have committed crimes ...
... and been convicted.

I'm not trying to be foolish, i just don't know a term that is more acceptable (?)

6. Reading the snippet...
...I initially thought they were referring to sexual orientation. I was mistaken.

3. Two different groups.
I mean, I can't prove that, but it looks to me like they are completely separate.

5. LOL, Did she help former Nixon aids who went to jail 'see the light'?
What a racket. Teach them to act Christian and promise to be good? Rehab for political hacks who got caught?

While I am all for spiritual growth for anybody who really does the work, gotta admit some skepticism about some of the ones who claim to have been changed when they appear at parole hearings. My dad was an alcoholic and I have heard the 'I'm better now. Trust me' once too often. Some of these guys set off my radar.
