we DO know two things about Miers

1. she is religiously insane

2. she has spent much time lawyering the law by exploitation and manipulation so the bushgang can do their crimes in relative comfort.

1. How do we know she's religiously insane?
How do you confirm this?

19. That is true. According to them, anyone who believes in God is crazy.
Some of them are as intolerant as the rightwingers, and yes you can be intolerant of a majority. South Africa was a perfect example of a minority being intolerant of a majority so I don't want to hear that argument.

5. she considers Bush the most brilliant man she's ever met.
If that ain't religiously insane, I don't know what it. It takes a heap of faith to even consider him mediocre.

11. Let's start with this fact
She was associated with an organization that "turns" gays straight by using religious intervention.

14. No, she is not.
That's Exodus International, not Exodus Ministries. Exodus Ministries, the one she worked for, is a religious group for ex-convicts.

I heard it on AAR, apparently it was a mistake. I thought it funny that nobody else was saying anything about it.

Is Exodus Ministries a fundie group? I presume it is. I cannot imagine Chimpy appointing a non-fundie to SCOTUS.

18. actually its a different exodus ministries
It turns out that the Exodus Ministries she is/was involved with wasn't one "helping gays go straight" but an unaffiliated one that worked to help released convicts return to society. I don't think we really can complain about this without looking stupid.

2. We know two more important things:
1. She is unqualified

2. She is a Bush crony.

That combination hasn't worked elsewhere in the Administration. I have even less confidence in it as a formula for a successful Associate Justice.

4. You don't need to be "qualified" to serve on the SCOTUS.
Sheesh. Look at Clarence Thomas.

He hasn't had an original thought in decades.

21. Roberts and Miers were chosen to protect him
from the legal battles to come.

Per The LeftCoaster:

Oppose her. Force the GOP members of the Gang of 14 to invoke the nuclear option to put this unqualified candidate on the court by a simple majority. Given the opposition from the base, I am willing to bet that they won't blow up the filibuster for a pick like Miers. Hell, at this point, it isn't even certain that Miers would pass with the full support of the GOP Senate caucus.

Look, a man who values loyalty to him and worship of him more than qualifications and competence when selecting a judge for the highest court in the land is a man with a screw loose. There's something wrong with George W. Bush, and perhaps its time for people to start talking openly about this.
