She hasn't expressed opposition to abortion? What kind of pro-lifer would not have done that?

2. She donated to Gore in the 1988 Primaries
And wasn't Rick Perry, currently Repub Gov. of Texas, handling Gore's campaign in Texas back then?

6. I was listening to Dr Laura
Edited on Mon Oct-03-05 03:43 PM by MaineDem
I've since showered and decontaminated so I'm okay.

But she said that as a member of a law firm, laywers are pressured to give to many campaigns. She said it's not uncommon to give to both parties.

Consider the source...trying to mitigate the damage to Miers perhaps? Or do attoneys just want to cover all bases?

7. That was when Dems were in power in Texas.
All she was doing was kissing ass.

I learned this from reading one of the scores of threads already on DU.

8. It was a Rick Perry chaired primary campaign (Dem)
no big deal, it was a "local" thing rather than really about Gore.
That's Texas babies!

9. That was in 1988
Texas Dems back then were Boll Weevil (sp?) conservatives. Gore himself also ran somewhat to the right of the rest of the field that year. Miers and many of the "Democrats" from then have become Republicans (or parade around with their "D" to bash Democrats, a la Zell the asshole.)
