another $50 Billion for Iraq? .. put the war enablers on your shit list !!
i just received the following email from United for Peace and Justice ... the email indicates that the Senate will vote this Wednesday on another $50 Billion to continue the occupation of Iraq ...

with each previous appropriation, we were told the money was for such necessary things as reconstruction (what happened to all those funds that were allocated for that?) and to buy gear for the troops (most troops still have not been reimbursed for gear they had to purchase on their own although funds were allocated in the previous "supplemental") ...

the truth is we are just pouring bad money after bad money in Iraq ... more money means nothing more than continued occupation ... the time for negotiating with Democrats is over ... it's time to pick sides ... this supplemental will separate the bush appeasers from the progressives ...

Americans and especially Democrats have had enough of bush's madness ... we know the truth about Iraq and we should not tolerate any more excuses from republicans or Democrats ... it's time to say "NO MORE MONEY FOR WAR" ... and those who fight against us on this do not, and should not, represent us ...

Please keep kicked until after the vote on Wednesday ... thanks ...

The UFPJ Lobby Day on Sept. 26th was the largest lobby day for peace that many long-time organizers have ever seen! Almost 1000 grassroots activists met with over 300 Senators, Representatives and their staff to demand they take action to end the war. The pressure from the weekend's activities, including the Lobby Day, moved some congresspersons in the right direction. You can help us move more by making a phone call (and sending an email) to your Senators today.

The Senate is poised to vote yes on Wednesday to another $50 billion for the Iraq war. This money is being included as part of a $441 billion defense spending bill.

Call your Senators and demand they stop funding the war. Tell them to vote NO on the defense spending bills.

The Capitol Switchboard is 202-224-3121.
Ask to be connected to your Senator's office. (Make two calls, one to each Senator.) If you can't remember your Senator's name, just tell the operator what state you live in and they will connect you to the correct office.

In addition to calling your Senators, send an email to their offices by clicking here: http://www.demaction.org/dia/organizations/ufpj/campaign.jsp?campaign_KEY=1314

We have no illusions that the Senate will have the courage to stop funding the war this week, but it's vital that they face escalating pressure until they stop supporting the war.

4. I couldn't agree with you more
She is so pro-war, as well as beginning to carefully couch her talk on pro-choice as the 'tragedy of abortion'. I do not think she can win, and I hope this party does not give her the chance. I think she is a capable woman, but again, as soon as their eyes are on the prize, they (candidates) start to get all unglued.

I've noticed the DU GDP forum has been very dull lately. This may do better in the GEN forum.

If you re-post, please provide a link.
