Cheney now says it will be decades of war...so much for the "last throes"
Would that be a flip-flop? I'm finishing up a documentary on grassroots efforts in 2004 and some of the damn idiots I have on film would chnt "flip-flop!" whenever any level of engagement was made on the choice to vote for the AWOL Cowboy. Little kids baring their teeth yelling "flip-flop"...

Was it a month ago when Cheney was declaring the Iraqi "insurgents" were in their last throes...and now...it's decades of death...for the poor people, of course.

5. Cheney is so full of feces.
(snip)

Cheney devoted the half-hour speech to a frightening characterization of the war on terrorism and the new kind of mobilization he said it demanded. He sounded the alarm about the increasing prospects of a major new terrorist attack and the extraordinary responses that are required. While many of his remarks echoed past comments by the president and senior officials, Cheney struck a surprisingly dour note and suggested only an administration of proven ability could manage the dramatic overhaul necessary for the nation's security apparatus.

======

In addition, an expert at the U.S. Army War College, Jeffrey Record, recently released a 62-page analysis that concluded the war in Iraq might have set back American efforts to stop terrorists by diverting precious resources to a battle that will do little to prevent new attacks.

As a result, Record concluded, the war on terrorism "lacks strategic clarity, embraces unrealistic objectives and may not be sustainable over the long haul."

(snip)

So in the 4 years since 9/11 according to the espert Record, we have gone backwards in the War on Terror, because of the idiotic war in Iraq.

7. PNAC would LOVE endless war for a few reasons
Weapons companies make oodles of money and also control and own the media. How convenient!

Being able to arm these wars, which need the media to control the message and scare the public, make for a perfect fit for endless wars.

Arm the poor. Hype the war. Kill. Take over their assets. Kill some more. Arm them again. Send our poor to kill their poor. Hype the war. Repeat ad nauseum.
