1. Rove
Because his actions are not out front and center...he acts through others, such as Cheney and Bush.

7. He is trustworthy
A very conservative/libertarian republican and his votes are strictly in accordance with that.

I dont agree with him, but you can be sure where he is going to vote.

5. Other
It appears to me that they ALL speak with one voice. Perhaps that voice comes from one on your list, perhaps it comes from one not on your list. So the category "All Of The Above Plus..." should be added to this poll, imo
ps: perhaps it comes from the little voices in the shrubs head in which case extra terrestrials may need to be added to this list.

10. I became political aware in 1968
Edited on Thu Oct-06-05 06:49 AM by mrcheerful
I was 5 years old when JFK was murdered,I still remember neighbors running around saying the USSR killed him and they were going to drop bombs on our heads.

Then MLK and Bobby K were gunned down. That was when I became aware of the repukes lie machine. Remember Sargent Shiver? The Nixon spin doctors found out he had a nervous break down in his past and was hospitalized for it. I remember how they were saying that a man couldn't be trusted in the WH because he was insane, it cost McGovern his bid and Tricky Dick won.

Nixon was a true repuke in the way he told america that he would get out of Vietnam. Funny how instead he escalated the war and got 1,000's of our boys killed for no reason. Then Kent state. Then the war on drugs escalated and people were being hit with tougher sentences for drug dealing, remember his tough on crime platform?

Then Watergate broke and we found out that not only did he have a direct link to those that broke into the NDC, but he was also taking ''gifts''.So as a last resort to save his butt, he made peace with the Viet cong and called it a honorable peace agreement, but in reality he sold america and all those who died in Vietnam. Then Ford took over and in 1974 we had the first major gas shortage. Lately I hear freepers laying that on Jimmy Carters watch, yet they forget that Jimmy wasn't elected until 1976.

Then along comes Ronnie''the drug war general''Reagan and we saw union busting and massive lay offs and Reagan dealing drugs for his terrorists after congress turned down his funding for the Contras.

After 28 years of Repuke leadership all I have seen them do is pander to the rich, break laws and try to impeach democrats for their sex lives. I have never seen one repuke that stood up for the american people, they have always backed the interests of the rich and what the rich wanted.

Look at the way freepers talk about the problems of today are because of unions and welfare, They ignore that the rich are getting welfare from the government, they actually think tax breaks are good for the rich. In the 48 years I been around the only time big businesses hired was when taxes were high and they had to produce more to make up for taxes. Notice GMC actually started hiring under Clinton's tax plan. Now they are back to out sourcing and leaving the country. Repukes can't be trusted with the lively hood of we the people, they sold us out a long long time ago.

12. It was Tom Eagleton that the Repubs smeared
Eagleton, then a Senator from Missouri, was McGovern's first pick for Veep. It was then discovered/disclosed that he had sought psychiatric therapy for depression and had received, IIRC, shock treatments. The furor led to his being dropped from the ticket and replaced with Sargent Shriver.

13. Ok, i just remembered Sargent, hey i was only 12 in 68
my little mind was more on the girl next door then what was going on. I just remember the smear tactics used by the repukes even back then. Funny how its always truth when repukes smear but when dems try to use fact its called smear tactics and its not fair.

I just had to say it before the young'uns had a chance.:D

Shriver's less notable contribution to politics is Schwarzenegger's wife.

11. You have to go with Dick Cheney and here's why
Many pick Bush, but remember this - Bush is NOT the brains behind the administration. He's merely a puppet who is told what to do and what to say. Cheney is always in an 'undisclosed location' because this guy is the one running the White House. I pick him over Rove because Rove's main goal in life is to try and make Bush look believable

24. All of them. Every last fucking one.
Any Repub with any integrity left will be in the forefront of criticizing this regime, like Paul Craig Roberts. There's a place for Repubs who hate what the neocons have done to their party and are trying to fight it. Any other one has no integrity and is no more trustworthy than any other one.
