These 9 senators approve the use of Torture
Edited on Thu Oct-06-05 07:28 AM by LynneSin
http://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/roll_call_vote_cfm.cfm?congress=109&session=1&vote=00249

Wayne Allard (R-CO)
Christopher Bond (R-MO)
Tom Coburn (R-OK)
Thad Cochran (R-MS)
John Cornyn (R-TX)
James Inhofe (R-OK)
Pat Roberts (R-KS)
Jeff Sessions (R-AL)
Ted Stevens (R-AK)

What's worse is George Bush supports these nine men who thinks doing horrible stuff like this is somehow justified:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20051006/ap_on_go_co/congress_detainees

These men call themselves "Christians" and yet no where in the bible is torture done by Jesus. If their 'Christian hell' is real, there is a special place for nine men who would allow our country to create hell here on earth. War is wrong but at least if we're going to be in war, let's be civilized human beings about it. There is no justification for prisoner abuse & torture.

9. Hmmm...Maybe someone could photoshop their faces onto the Nazgul
from the Lord of the Rings. The Nazgul are refered to as "the nine" and that would fit very nicely here.

4. Not to mention RAPING and MURDERING, as even REPUBLICAN
Senator Graham pointed out (while rightwingnut bush-bots and Limpballs went on about "frat pranks").

Remember; what we do will be done to us.

5. We should start a campaign where we fax and/or mail
pictures of those being tortured in Iraq to these 9 senators. Let them know this is what they are approving and the rest of the country including many many of their neo-conservative counterparts do NOT approve!!

6. The freepers are freaking
because the US military will be prohibited from torturing detainees. They are calling the 90 Senators who voted for this amendment every name in the book and touting those in favor of torture as heroes. What a bunch of sick freaks (but I do enjoy watching them all get their undies in a a knot)..

7. The use of torture puts us all in great danger....
in addition to the complete immorality of it.
Very bad karma to all the US.

8. I don't have anything useful to say but...
I am just sick with horror and that's not rhetoric; I am having difficulty even thinking about this obscenity coming out of a country I once considered emigrating to. The thought will be sloshing around in my head for the rest of the day.

I suspect this is part of a strategy to maintain the hatred of the US in order to justify perpetual warfare and it will work perfectly.

WTF have we become?

11. It's amazing
how many of these people claim the moral high ground and wallow in the depths of the sewer at the same time. If we allow torture to used, then when it is used by whoever we are fighting against us, we have lost all claims of moral and ethical superiority.

14. Maybe its just
The pessimist in me but did Talent's decision have something to do with him polling in a dead heat with Claire McCaskill. Not one Senator who's up in 06 voted for this

18. Maybe its my own
personality flaw but I just don't trust these guys, even when they do something that's good. I think that if Talent or Santorum had voted for this, McCaskill or Bob Casey would have had a press release out by now saying that they were vehmently opposed to torture.

22. Check it out - none of the people who voted for it are up for re-election
You think anyone with an election coming up in 2006 wants someone using this against them? I could see the campaign ad now: Jim Talent supports the use of torture and then a series of the torture pictures from Iraq scroll across the TV screen.

Talent may not be better than Bond but he also wants to keep his job in 2006

26. Also keep
In ming none of these guys are guys who've expressed Presidential ambitions. Wingnut Brownback voted against this because you know McCain would bring this up in debates and things like that.
