Senate Finance Comm hearing: Any watching?
Sen. Grassley started this by saying that the bi-partisan legislation designed to help the poor residents of the Gulf Region has been derailed by a cabal of Sens. who don't want any package of aid. They have Sec of Treasury testifying and he has stated the latest Rethug line about getting the free market into the Gulf and that they will make everything right without giving any money to those pesky indigent people.

This is like watching a rape in slow motion. Somebody watch this. It's very important.

1. Even Bunnning is criticizing the Admin over their policies
in the Gulf. Bunning is asking how the Admin plans to get people to move back to the Gulf region. (Without aid and help.)

Snowe is expecting state and local bonds to help the states recover.

(Grassley asked Snowe to go back to the White House and ask them to back off of his bill. The White House doesn't want this help. Bastards.)

3. Yes. IT is.
The Bush Admin is trying to kill the legislation that will allow tax credits to help in Gulf Recovery. Snowe wants to offload that to the localities and states. Every single member of this committee, Dems and Repubs, have given him strong criticism. Snowe keeps parroting the company line: Everything will be fine, we are doing great and the free market will life all boats.

It's just disgraceful.
