British Official Accuses Iran of Helping Insurgents in Iraq

Since Bush and Blair are like conjoined twins, this sounds a bit scary and like sabre rattling.

A senior British official was quoted yesterday as accusing Iran of supplying explosive technology used in lethal attacks on British troops in southern Iraq.

The official was not identified. But the remarks, reported by the Press Association news agency of Britain, came during London's broader dispute with Tehran over its nuclear program. Britain is one of three European countries that have been negotiating with Iran, with United States support, to try to persuade it not to enrich uranium.

The British official was quoted as saying there was evidence that Iran was in contact with Sunni Arab insurgents fighting British and American forces in Iraq. The official said Britain believed that explosive technology used against British troops had "come from Lebanese Hezbollah, via Iran."..."
