Forgotten Cabinet posts: Surgeon General
Edited on Thu Oct-06-05 01:19 PM by blondeatlast
Avian Flu? Hepatitis and whatever other muck must be multiplying like paramecium in the Gulf Coast? Tularemia?

Who is he?

WHERE is he?

Dr. Carmona has also held progressive positions of responsibility as chief medical officer, hospital chief executive officer, public health officer, and finally chief executive officer of the Pima county health care system. He has also served as a medical director of police and fire departments and is a fully-qualified peace officer with expertise in special operations and emergency preparedness, including weapons of mass destruction. (emphasis mine)

Dr. Carmona has published extensively and received numerous awards, decorations, and local and national recognition for his achievements. A strong supporter of community service, he has served on community and national boards and provided leadership to many diverse organizations.

Edit: something bizarre happened while I was composing this, so if it looked strange when you first saw it, that might explain it.

1. He has been replaced
By Oral Roberts, who is a much better healer, and doesn't betray God with all that science-based medicine.

You're right, what the heck happened to the Surgeon General?

2. Surgeon-General
isn't a cabinet position. He or she works for the department of Health and Human Services, and the main responsibility is for public health education.

The S-G doesn't even report to the Secretary of HHS - he or she reports to an assistant secretary. It's a pretty low-level job.

of the past, this guy is strangely silent. He

Flu-shot shortage of last year? Nary a word from the guy that I'm aware of.

Edit: And regarding the flu-shot, as a high risk category, I was quite nervous last year until I managed to scrounge one up.
