Did Bush Administration or Bloomberg issue subway warning?
Edited on Thu Oct-06-05 04:43 PM by Ignacio Upton
I'm not near a tv now, so I don't know who issued the warning. If it came from Bush Administration, then it is definately boug. However, if it came from Bloomberg, I would call it a coincidence that it happened today. I'm pretty sure that given the circumstances going on the White House, I doubt Bloomberg would scare people to help Bush's people. I don't see him issuing the alert to gain politically. He is already leading Ferrer by double-digits. Why would he be political in issuing this warning?

1. Don't know but the fact the story says 19 terrorist are involved
makes it sound bogus to me. Why not 18 or 20?

4. 19 terrorists?
They didn't even need that many to cause havoc in London. Either some of those guys are backups or Bloomberg is being fed bad reports.

2. Definitely bush issued........
we all saw this coming days ago. I had shark attack and missing white girl in the DU "distraction" pool. DAMN IT! "NYC Subway threat" was still available on the board too and I passed it up. WHAT AN IDIOT! I should have known they'd need something bigger than a stupid "shark attack". What the hell was I thinking? Stupid, Stupid, STUPID ME! :banghead:

3. MSNBC alert says this
New York to be alerted to possible attack
Credibility of the source is in question, but police will advise vigilance

6. This is not a coincidence
FBI told Bloomberg. It's not today's news since they said on CNN that a news outlet had this info 2 days ago and were asked to hold it. Bloomberg said news was held to protect the public safety. I'm not understanding how it protects the public tho. No arrests. I heard on the radio that 2 (possibly) Iraqi's gave the info on 19 terrorists with target (NY subways) and timing specificity. Supposedly specific threat to subway system.

Honestly with this timing and Bush's speech and no one in custody I just can't swallow this yet.

7. MSNBC says this too
The sources spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter.

Some officials told NBC News that they doubt the credibility of the threat. The source has apparently given some accurate information in the past, and some inaccurate, and there are reasons, they say, to doubt this new information.

8. Hmmm. Maybe he is leading Ferrer because he's had a lot of political help
from the BFEE. Which would mean he owes favors to BushCo.

Of course that's just speculation. But when BushCo needed a huge anti-war demonstration bottled up in Feb 2003, Bloomberg (uncharacteristically) went along with fake terror alerts and repressive police actions. Again, when BushCo needed help with their convention, Bloomberg volunteered to hand over NYC to the repugs and went along with illegally detaining thousands of protesters (and bystanders) until after the convention closed.

Perhaps you detect a slight distaste on my part for our 'liberal' republican mayor. But I do think he has shamelessly propped up the shrub, who lost to John Kerry in NYC by something like 80% to 20%.

11. No, I just think that it is horseshit that he would help Bush to that
extent and way. Why would Bush want to involve Bloomberg in the Valarie Plame case?
