2. Wow! I was just thinking along these same lines....
while I was logging in to DU. I was thinking about starting a post with the same theme in mind. I was thinking about how dangerous this maladministration is, not just for all the things that have been discussed in many threads here before, but because of their complete lack of credibility. It seems that more and more people are finding it impossible to take any credence with anything that comes out of this White House. They have been so dishonest about so many things, that it is very difficult to have any faith in them at all. When I hear people talking about issues coming out of the White House there's a hint of sarcasm in their voices. People immediately start thinking about what the real story is, what's there to gain for the nitwit and his cronies, who's lying now about what? There is a real danger here for everyone, just like the story about the boy who cried wolf. And it's just one more reason why this nitwit and his malicious troop have got to go. They have lost all credibility, and they no longer have the ability to lead. Few will follow the fool unless they share the fool's folly, for who knows where the fool's journey ends, and what perils are in the fool's path?
Then there's the issue of how incompetent they have shown themselves to be when there is a real emergency. They have zero credibility. Period. That is a dangerous situation for a nation.

7. We have lost our creadibility on the world scene also. The rest of the
world will not pay any attention to us after the Iraq fiasco.

11. I think we are like a dead skunk in the road and every one is just
going around us. It is hard as we are such a big skunk.

14. A real president, a decent, intelligent one would never allow
allow all this false alarm foolishness with such a thing as "terror."

Yes, that's the really terrifying part is something could happen but with all this wolf crying for POLITICAL GAIN (HOW SICK IS THAT) it makes it even worse.

I wonder lately if it's all part of their plan (really evil but plausible) to catch us unprepared since we've heard it so many times.

3. In this case they're trying to "terrorize the news" so we miss the part
about getting eaten by the wolf. Shrub's too dim to know you can fool the people only so many times. We're watching for the wolf.

4. The idiots have cried wolf any time they need a shot in the polls.
They've numbed this country to terrorist alerts. It's become akin to a "severe thunderstory watch." No big deal.

10. The public has seen through the facade of the "color-coded alerts"
and look what happened when the weather forecasters took light drizzles and turned them into "the end of the world storms" . . . (great line in the Stephen King tv movie "Storm of the Century"; not verbatim, but timely in this administration; "When the government tells you to beware, go on with your life. When it says everything's fine, that's when you worry.")

The one time that the hype of the hurricane really lives up to its PR, preparations were put off . . .

13. When *ush's poll numbers are down
it always appears to me that "something else" happens to divert attention away from the train wreck that is his administration. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought this last night, albeit with the preface, "I'm going to say something really terrible and it would be awful if something happened, BUT....." }(
