No evidence of Bin Laden’s death in quake

WASHINGTON: No evidence suggests that the deadly earthquake that rocked Pakistan on Saturday injured or killed the world’s top terror leader, Osama bin Laden.

The quake shook the border region of Afghanistan and Pakistan, where bin Laden is believed to be hiding. However, authorities at this point have no information indicating whether he has been injured or killed, said a US official.

Bin Laden guided the September 11, 2001, attacks aimed at New York City and Washington.

US hopes for bin Laden’s death or capture were high in December 2001, when the US and Afghan troops surrounded a cave complex sheltering Al Qaeda members in Afghanistan’s Tora Bora region. However, bin Laden escaped and is now believed to be living a relatively isolated existence to evade capture.

He was last seen publicly on a videotaped message before the November 2004 US elections.

BBC World Service this morning was reporting from Balochistan which I think is the region described in the story. Bad damage there...

7. Wonder if Bin Laden has problems promoting from within?
Bin Laden "You are my esteemed number 3, I would like you to become my even more esteemed number 2, and everybody below you moves up a notch until you are killed, then number 3 becomes number 2, but I cannot afford a raise for you but maybe tell number 3 he gets a COLA when you are killed"!

5. Okay, did anyone else not have this thought cross their mind...
when they heard the news this weekend? I'll admit it. When I heard that 18,000 Pakistanis had lost their lives in an earthquake, bin Laden's fate never once occurred to me.

6. How could they?
Isn't he still in his television studio/bunker in West Virginia?

I hear he's working on sequels to his successful election eve Bush/Cheney '04 campaign ad for '08.

10. I would think his bones would have turned to dust by now. He's been dead
since 2001.
