People hate "government spending." They would hate "government borrowing" even more. Let's stop using the euphemism "deficit."

2. The problem is that China owns about 1/4 of our debt
They are currently receiving low interest rates. If they should decide to dump the bonds that they have bought, we would be in REAL trouble.

3. We're kinda like that mooch roommate everyone's had.
We never have our wallet with us at restaurants, and we're always borrowing "just a few bucks."

4. Its a bird, its a plane, its the repub program,Responsive Economics
Where when you don't have it, you pick up a fiver from some other dumb schmuck. Need a cool billion or so, sell the country. Need to sweeten the voters with another business bail out, call 1-800-CHINA, where practice makes perfect. Criticized by the youth in America who refuse to shut up about the debt they should be grateful for, yank in their paltry student loans while raking in some more "borrowed" dough.

Life's a beach!

6. Yes, but there is a big difference.
