Why I so very (heart) Rachel Maddow
There are many reasons, but on today's show, and I'm transcribing this myself, she said of the confirmation "hearing" for Julie Myers, you know, the one who's totally unqualified and has been named to head the immigration and customs bureau?

Not that you'd know this from the American press corps... Exactly ONE Democrat showed up for this hearing... that's it.

Nice work, you ridiculous, lame, weenie wussie, pitiful, excuses for an opposition. Nice work!

I love her so, and if she were straight, and if I weren't married, and wayyy too old for her... well, I still wouldn't have a shot I guess.

But hers is, for my money, the best hour on Air America.

1. And did you know you can download her show EVERY MORNING after 7am
on iTunes? I listen to Maddow every evening while I work out at the gym. Thank God for podcasting!

2. How do you think I transcribed that bit?
I ain't up at 5am. But I listen to her podcasts.

I'm of two minds about that slot of hers. Her show is pretty much perfect as is. It works as Air America's "Front Page."

But how many people get to hear it? How many should, and don't?

3. Agree 100 %, she is by far my favorite on AAR
Comes on at 5:00 AM my time. She is articulate, resourceful, and her thoughts are extremely organized. The one hour I listen to her, is enough to hold me of a whole day worth of news. She is unbeleivable, I love her too.

4. she can be funny, and fiercely progressive, but never embarrassing.
She never seems to be putting on an act, never sounds faux-outraged like, um, some AA talent I could mention but won't.

She's got her act together, makes the very most of that ~37-odd minutes she's got to work with, and I'm never let down.

I know Lieberman spoke against her (also Voinovich).

9. I love Rachel, too
I knew her years ago in SF when we were doing some activism for women prisoners with AIDS. She is a great person. Very bright, very hard working, and very nice. Gotta remember while she self deprecates, she is a Rhodes Scholar!
