Rove Rats Out Libby At The Grand Jury: What Does It Mean ?
Is Libby the chosen one to be the "fall guy"? How serious is this breach between the White House and the Office of the Vice-President? From the most recent reports, it appears that George W Bush had "delegated" most of nation's defense questions and decisions to Dick Cheney and Rumsfeld. After all, Cheney was the Secretary of Defense in the First Gulf War.

If Rove has squealed on Libby, as has been reported by H2Oman and others, it indicates a division and a degree of backstabbing we had not imagined up to this point. Are we to expect Libby and Cheney to not react in kind? This could be all-out war between the VP's Office and the White House? They are falling like bowling pins on a strike.

1. it seems like bush is throwing cheney under the bus...
but i can't see it helping him. maybe it saves his skin, but it just makes him look even more incompetent if his defense is "my veep did this shit and i didn't know what was going on"

2. Hopefully all-out war.
Libby calling Judy Miller home from the clink seems to indicate to me that the Cheney team has sold out Bush.

They made their money and are getting out while they can.

5. "They made their money and are getting out while they can."
I thought about this on the way to work. How much $$$ will the principal players reap after all is said and done? Consider that 2,000 Americans are dead in Iraq; 10s if thousands more are wounded; over 100,000 Iraqis are dead and who knows how many wounded; the WTC is gone, along with 3,000 more Americans; New Orleans is gone, along with 1,500 more Americans; our reputation around the world is at an all-time low; we Americans are at the highest risk ever for terrorist attacks. But how much will the Bush Family, Halliburton, VP Cheney, oil companies; defense contractors, et al have made?

After all, the past 5 years was nothing more than a "business venture" for the well-connected...

8. I seriously think it's possible that Cheney may cash out.
He won't do any time, and he'll get a cushy figurehead role at Halliburton. All's well that ends well.

3. I love the smell of internecine rat-finking in the morning!
The beauty is that they all lose. The more they rat each other out, the lower the Bu$hboy polls go.

The White House rat-trough.

Bush jnr might appear stupid but consider the influence that the Bush family has had since at least the 1930's for a start. There is little doubt that they are major players when it comes to making a lot of money. Anthony Sutton deals with that well in his book on the Bush family.

Consider then the unlikely theory that the Cheney cabal was allowed to operate independently for reasons of enriching themselves without the involvement of the Bush crowd. It is possible that there are two factions I suppose but we can only guess at that possibility. If there are indictments some light might be shone into that dark corner but see my penultimate paragraph.

My hunch is there is a lot more to this than we are being allowed to see. It's for that reason I have misgivings over the real agenda driving the Fitz investigation. I am almost certain Fitz is not a decoy nor do I believe he would allow himself to be used to create a clever cover up. Fitz, apparently, is one sharp cookie. I suspect Fitz is being used in a way that is damned clever though.

Yes, my gut feeling is that there is something much bigger behind all of the ongoing debacle. Something that springs from powerful people whose names we don't know and are probably never going to know. I'll continue to hold that view even if there are indictments of some people within the WHIG cabal.

The hands that steer the money machine are not those of the political creatures we see on the teevee.

6. I think they will probably attempt to plant the thought in Fitz' mind....
...that the nation is at war, and for love of country and patriotic reasons, the charges should not go to the White House. They are looking for a weak spot, I would think?

14. If it's true
It means that no one, not even Unka Dick's closest advisers, messes with Chimpy and his circle. I would have thought Unka Dick was in that circle, along with his henchmen, but if they're throwing Libby overboard, it means that there's a little more daylight between Bush and Cheney than I would have thought.

It also means that they're trying desperately to lighten their craft, as their pursuers seem to be gaining.
