About that report on Syria? The one Chumpy is jumping on...
Edited on Fri Oct-21-05 09:00 PM by texpatriot2004
who here knows something about it? The one that he is using to appeal to the UN regarding Syria. I know it's a bogus report written by his allies, his partners in crime (probably literally) I am curious about the death of Hariri. I thought there was some suspicious death of someone who knew or may have known the facts. Can anyone help me out here?

1. Perhaps he would be interested in the hidden reports explaining
all the elected regimes the CIA has helped overthrow as well as all the assasinations they have been a party to.... then again there is that Chile thing.... they name streets after morons such as this... One Way.

2. Maybe they got it from "British Intelligence"
*stick used words like "suggests, strongly suggests".

I have been watching this and it just doesn't make sense.
But who would that surprise?

A lot of supposition.

If I posted my true thoughts I would probably get flamed off the page. I do not think USA is calling the shots on this.

4. There was some Secretary or minister in the Syrian gov't that
just recently committed suicide. I can't remember all the details but it seems that the msm was tying it in with the assassination.

5. Syrian Official Found Dead
BEIRUT, Oct. 12 -- Syria's interior minister was found dead Wednesday in his office in the Syrian capital, Damascus, in what the government described as a suicide. The death of Maj. Gen. Ghazi Kanaan came just days before the planned release of a U.N. report on suspected Syrian involvement in the car-bomb assassination of Lebanon's former prime minister.

Kanaan, 63, who for two decades was Syria's top intelligence official here in neighboring Lebanon, fatally shot himself, according to a statement issued by SANA, the official Syrian news agency. The statement gave no further details, saying only that an official investigation had been launched.

Perhaps it was an "assisted suicide"

9. I'm not sure I follow. Why would the UN doctor the report?
I understand that the US needs another diversion to get the heat off the WH, but how does the UN fit in?

10. I am still working this out, but the UN changes were found
THE United Nations withheld some of the most damaging allegations against Syria in its report on the murder of Rafik Hariri, the former Lebanese Prime Minister, it emerged yesterday.

The names of the brother of Bashar al-Assad, President of Syria, and other members of his inner circle, were dropped from the report that was sent to the Security Council.

The confidential changes were revealed by an extraordinary computer gaffe because an electronic version distributed by UN officials on Thursday night allowed recipients to track editing changes.

The mistaken release of the unedited report added further support to the published conclusion that Syria was behind Mr Hariri’s assassination in a bomb blast on Valentine’s Day in Beirut. The murder of Mr Hariri touched off an international outcry and hastened Syria’s departure from Lebanon in April after a 29-year pervasive military presence.

15. "Doctored" is a loaded word
Edited on Sat Oct-22-05 08:56 AM by alcibiades_mystery
If you just have the changes, but no understanding of the writing process, then you don't know why those names were removed. Perhaps they were removed because the evidence that caused them to be added was found to be insufficient. The Timesonline (a Murdoch rag) uses the term "doctored" - when the more neutral "edited" would have worked just as well (and is, in fact, the only word borne out by the evidence). How do the very writers of a report "doctor" their own report? I've come back in and edited this post...Have I "doctored" it?!? They spun you right round baby, right round.

12. I haven't researched it well, BUT
I am fairly certain that a CNN report I had on today said that the most damning details, those that link the bombing to the highest levels of the Syrian government, are all hearsay evidence from one single informant, who remains nameless.

It'd be a hell of a thing to justify a war based upon the information provided by one unnamed source wouldn't it? Gee, this sounds familiar somehow.........
