Sen. Harkin talking of high heating prices -blames on tax breaks for
the well off. says we have the money if tax breaks on given to them.

1. heating fuel prices will cause people to do without. I fear some will
freeze-esp. those on fixed incomes.

2. When Harkin is on, he's ON!
Saw him at a fund raiser a couple of weeks ago and he said, "It feels good to be a Democrat right now." :)

3. Harkin is fabulous and is still MY senator altho I now live in OK
he came into the House in the 74 election, which was a major win for the democrats

he ran in 72 but lost.....his wife ran for Story Co Atty in 72 and won.....the first woman county atty in IA.....Story Co dems used to kid Harkin saying his wife won before he did

my son was 3 in 72 and 5 in 74; in both elections he 'helped' at the Story Co democratic party headquarters......I tell him he was 1 of Harkin's first workers
