http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/la-na-miers24oct24,1,751035.story?coll=chi-news-hed&ctrack=1&cset=trueSeems that Shrub has more than a few things in his background that he'd like to hide (and that Harriet Miers is quite cognizant of). In fact, I'm suspecting increasingly that Bush picked Miers as a way to try to conceal his assorted high crimes and misdemeanors since his Texas governor days, extending all the way to Plamegate and the flagrantly illegal pro-torture policies of the Administration at Gitmo and in Iraq. What better way to reduce scrutiny, he must be thinking, than to have an ally on SCOTUS to help muzzle subpoenas against him?
Howard Dean has been standing strong, demanding the release of documents on Miers extending all the way back to her Texas lottery days, and extending to her stint as WH counsel to Bush. Let's make sure that top Democratic figures in general join in Dean's call to adamantly demand the release of the Miers files, to put a big, glaring light on whatever Bush is trying to hide. Bush is already facing disaster w/ the Libby and Rove indictments, and the Miers scandal above all else should lift the veil on his own personal connections to their misdeeds. When there's a fire brewing like this-- never hurts to pour on a little extra oil.
