SCOTUS - So now we have to settle for second best?
Nominee 'Best Person I Could Find,' Bush Says
By Maura Reynolds, Times Staff Writer
Oct. 5, 2005

WASHINGTON — Seeking to quell unrest on his conservative flank, President Bush mounted a defense Tuesday of Supreme Court nominee Harriet E. Miers, insisting that his friend and former personal lawyer was "the best person I could find" for the job.

Since the "best" person has withdrawn her nomination I guess we'll have to settle for second best.

Or maybe the operative word is "find".
Maybe there are better candidates but they are hiding?
Come out, come out, wherever you are.

2. Did we move that far UP the line?
I thought Miers was way behind second best.

3. Bush will say that although Miers was "the best"
He actually find someone "bester" than "best" in his second nomination.

And if a third nominee is required, that person with be "the bestest."

"Best," "bester," "bestest:" All possible in BushWorld.
