Nightline: Miers
After nearly a month of withering attacks, Miers called the President last night and told him she had decided to withdraw. This morning, she formalized the decision in a letter to the President. And he reluctantly accepted.

1. She was harassed severely by the right wing wackos.
Who had recommended to her and the W she withdraw. A true hatchet job of anyone who doesn't follow the right wing wacko agenda of doing away with choice, spitting on homosexuals, and embracing theocracy.

2. Yep
Even though I didn't like her nomination, the repukes were relentless in their attacks. Did you see the piece on her before? It was about her looks and how harsh the attacks were on her.

4. Kopel is calling George Will and David Frum on the carpet
presenting it as a shameful episode, asking, "Who appointed you guys?"

Diane Feinstein claimed it was sexist, that a man would never have been treated that way.

Someone else said a lot of it was the way she presented herself. She was shown to be deferential in photos with men, silently gazing up at them. Said she looked like a 50s housewife, and someone should have been assigned to her to manage those things.

5. The final bit was a blistering piece on bush...
Compared him to LBJ when the Vietnam war derailed his agenda.
