"Up or Down Vote"
Except when the Repukes essentially fillibuster and pressure, like they did to Miers.

"No Lithmus Test"
Except if they will overturn Roe v. Wade.

"No Activist Judges"
Except if they are Xtian RW activist judges.

Got anymore?

3. Procedurally, the Repigs were calling for an
"up or down vote" on judges sent to the floor by the Judiciary Committee because the Democrats were filibustering those nominations (which they had every right to do.)

Pragmatically, IMHO, the Right Wingnuts "filibustered" this nomination before it even got to committee---they did everything possible to make her withdraw so that they would not have to vote--voting "yes" on her nomination would be "toeing the party line" but it would have put them in hot water with their constituents---voting "no" would have been voting against "the person that the president says he wants" and they are on record saying that they should give the president the benefit of the doubt.

Miers was a political "hot potato" that none of them wanted to mess with. Thus, one more instance of Repig hypocrisy.
