Are gas prices going down where you are?
I noticed this morning they had dropped to about $2.25. It's just even more obvious how we have been "gouged". It just nuts:eyes:

16. Yes, Skink, amazing how easily we are acclimated to higher prices...
I recall when the price of mid grade was going up and screemed that it was up to $1.89...then the other day, my friend commented that the price was 'only' $2.39...YIKES!

14. Of course! The Gougers saw the growing popularity of hybrids
and real interest in alternative energy, and then even their Glorius Leader B* came out and called for conservation. They realized "Oops! Too much" and moved immediately to compensate.

29. I did my first diesel fill up last night
$2.89/gallon.

The talk around the dealership is that within the next year the price of diesel will go down. With the newer EPA restrictions coming in '07 some manufacturers are still deciding/working on if they're going to do diesel engines (I know this especially applies to the new Passat). So, the rumor is that with less diesel passenger vehicle available, demand will go down (but your Golf and my Beetle will still retain high resale value :)).

BUT, my uncle that works in a refinery, said that the price of diesel is going up (about 50 cents) due to the reformulation for lower sulfur content for 06.

BTW love, love, love my Beetle. :loveya:

24. It's just temporary until the fuss over quarterly profits dies down.
Then. it's up-Up-UP again for gas prices. Guaranteed.

Another nice little crisis in the Middle East (Iran or Syria) will do fine for these purposes.

Funny, every time the US sacrifices its soldiers and equipment in the region, with the encouragement of Ariel Sharon, the Saudis run laughing off to the bank.

Strange bedfellows.

But while on a day trip today, I filled up for $2.25 only 30 miles away....

But our hospitals charge more than the Mayo Clinic for some things, too.

Somebody's got the idea we're rich in this town or something...

39. About $2.50 in Las Vegas
Edited on Sun Oct-30-05 02:50 AM by Awsi Dooger
Tonight I saw as low as $2.47 and a high of $2.75 in the same general area east of the Strip. Dripping down pennies every day or every other day. In early September when I returned after vacation the standard price was about $2.87.
