to contact their Senators about Alito. They also need to contact the RNC and make it known that if the GOP allows this RW fanatic to get to the SC, they will do everything in their power to see to it that GOP candidates lose elections at every level of government throughout the country.

Moderate Republicans no longer have the luxury of voting for a candidate simply because the party backs him/her - they have to start taking a stand in order to take back their party from the fascists.

Dems also need to contact their Senators and the DNC and put them on notice: if they let this one go without a MAJOR fight, we'll be doing everything in our power to replace them with people who aren't afraid of a fight. Spineless Dems are the reason this country has gotten so out of control.

It's now or never.

5. I don't care about Bush's base ...
Edited on Mon Oct-31-05 10:15 PM by BattyDem
they are RW fanatics who will always love him no matter what he does. It's the rest of the country that needs to wake up and get involved. They have been complacent for far too long and it's coming back to bite us all in the ass!

Alito was endorsed by Dems when Bush, Sr. put him on the bench. (That's what I heard on one of the reports today - sorry don't remember which one.) There have been years of rulings since then which expose him for the radical nut-job he is! Unlike Repugs, Democrats (and progressives) actually learn from their mistakes and they are not afraid to change their minds as new facts become available. That's the fundamental difference between real intelligence and rampant ideology.

If we follow your logic (fighting will only make Bush stronger) then we should never oppose anything Bush says or does - we should simply accept our fate as our country falls further into fascism. It's a good thing our Founding Fathers didn't have such defeatist attitudes or we'd still be part of England. :eyes:

i am just saying fighting MAY get alito liked more. keep fighting...

what i am saying is the louder the screaming, the more the * base likes him. which might help * when it come to his base.

its like this, the dems that have the balls to fight alito, will, then the the RW will go hey look they are fighting this guy hard he cant be to bad, maybe * picked a good one for us ( all said by RWers )

now i say this but we fought meirs and the RWers most likely pushed her out

7. The RW already loves Alito - that's why Bush* chose him
Dems didn't fight Meirs. Harry Reid suggested her. The Republicans were split on her, which is why she went down in flames. We need to split them again - moderates vs. RWers - that's the best chance we have. The Dems need to fight and rally the moderate Republicans to fight with them, otherwise 50 years worth of civil rights will go down the drain. :-(
