I told Reid's staffer that I was going to give for the first time in a long time, and that I've been waiting for Democrats to start representing us. Then I emailed the Democratic Party after donating to explain that I've been telling their telemarketers that I won't give until Democrats step up and challenge the Bush administration's abuse of power, and that my modest donation will be followed by others if Democrats keep doing this.

I made a point of mentioning that I read about Sen. Reid's actions at DU, and that I was reading his statement here. May I suggest to other DUers that you point out your DU connection if you call or donate?

I encouraged him to continue until we have a real investigation that gives us some real answers.

and it felt good to be able to praise one our own for once. I am sending Frist a fax, but I thought Harry would need his email box stuffed with goodness to counter all the negative he is going to get.

Thank you Senator Reid!!! What you did today brought tears to my eyes. Many of your fellow Democrats have been waiting for our representatives to stand up and fight for us. WE WANT ANSWERS!!! Please continue to fight for us. Please fight for our troops. We all know they were sent to Iraq on false pretenses and we want it to stop. I don't care if you have to completely blow up the senate over this. We need the Republicans to be held accountable for their actions. God bless you as you go forward on this important matter. Please energize our party. We need a transfusion of straight talk and aggression on these matters. I think you did the right thing today judging by their reaction. I know I am not your constituent, but I wanted you to know how proud we are today of our Democratic Party!!
