Anyone ever hear of www.nfib.com
They insist that they are the National Federation of Independent Business, but they smell like a Republican misinformation site.

Anyone else receive an email this morning?

Here is their President's bio:

Jack Faris has served as president and CEO of NFIB since April 1992.

3. Thanks. It smelled that way.
I am getting used to reading crap like this.

My favorite parts is when they list the candidates side by side and give all positive marks for the Repub and negative for the Dem. The other interesting thing about this site is they don't mention the candidate's political affiliation.

4. I'm a proud NFIB member!
Well, not any more. I originally signed on with the NFIB, (a huge small business lobbying group)when they come around and tout their achievments and sign up biz owners. At the time, their big push was for health insurance reform and affordability, that sold me. Approaching the 2000 election I picked up on their bias big time. The past few years they've been lobbying hard for Death Tax repeal. They send out these ballots and questionaires which can hardly be answered with a simple yes or no. I think their take on everything is no regulation, no taxes, no accountability and no oversight. It's infuriating. I refused to renew my membership years ago, but I still get their literature. Farris is the new prez, the old guy was Jim Herr (the potatoe chip guy)from my home county. I think it wasn't as heavily repub then. Could be wrong, but that was my impression.

5. Thanks,
I own a small business and have never heard of them. I am also unsure about how they obtained my email address and knew I lived in NJ. They sent me NJ specific info comparing Jon Corzine and Doug Forrester.

I sent them an email this morning asking if they ever endorsed a Democratic candidiate. Looks like all their endorsements go to repubs.

Hummmmmmm....and on that note. I have still not seen Bush's healthcare plan that he promised would help small businesses.

6. Bush's Health Care Plan is the same as Social Security
Take some of that pile of money you have left over at the end of the week and put it into Health Savings Accounts invested in that safe and secure savings vehicle, the stock market! The NFIB likes this idea by the way. So, I have my education savings in a stock fund, my retirement savings in a stock fund, my life insurance in a stock fund, now, my health insurance in a stock fund? I barely make enough to pay my high deductable health insuance policy alone have enough to sock away on faith.

7. Bush did mention having small companies forming
pools and being able to get lower rates. I pay about 1,000 per month for my HMO.

Kerry would have done a better job dammit.
