"We will bring down their houses on the heads of their children."
Edited on Sat Nov-05-05 11:02 AM by welshTerrier2
Operation "Steel Curtain" is underway in Iraq near the Syrian border ... some believe war with Syria is inevitable ... the argument for war is based on the assertion that Syria is allowing foreign fighters, mostly Al Qaeda, to pour across the border into Iraq to support the insurgency ...

of course, as Kerry recently pointed out, foreign fighters in Iraq may be as low as 2% ... the insurgency is almost exclusively comprised of Iraqi Sunnis ... in fact, there have been a few articles written about conflicts between the Sunni insurgents and foreign infiltrators ...

presumably in an effort to strengthen US ties to the Iraqi people, here is an on the ground description of how the US is conducting its latest "offensive operation":

source: http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20051105/ts_nm/iraq_dc

Reuters Television footage showed houses and shops destroyed in previous operations, burnt-out cars and walls riddled with bullet holes.

"The Americans destroyed Qaim. Our houses are destroyed, our children are getting killed. What are we supposed to do now?" one unidentified resident said.

in a previous operation this past June, similar tactics were used against civilian populations:

The Karabila operation in June, like others since, involved aerial bombardment and gunbattles in the streets. Every house was searched, often only after the front gate was blown off with explosives, causing widespread devastation to the town.

Residents and insurgents alike have typically fled from their homes during such assaults, only to return afterwards.

Sunni Defense Minister Dulaimi incurred the wrath of his own people when he voiced his support for the American position ... it seems American puppets are quickly outed in Iraq:

One of Iraq's main Sunni Arab parties, the National Dialogue, condemned the offensive, saying it would "shed the blood of more innocent people."

The party also called for Defense Minister Saadoun Dulaimi, one of the few Sunnis in government, to be sacked over reported comments this week warning people against harboring insurgents.

"The defense minister said on television: 'We will bring down their houses on the heads of their children.' He should be taken to an international court and judged as one of the war criminals of Iraq," the National Dialogue said in a statement.

3. A tangent: yesterday on NPR, someone talking about rebuilding effort.
They said that a power plant was built, but it's not connected to anything because the scope of work didn't include connecting it to anything. They said they're trying to rebuild bombed out libraries, but can't get that going.

My response to that: why the hell did they ("precision"?) bomb a LIBRARY? Why do they even have to be rebuilding libraries?

Then it hit me. Libraries bombed out. No electricity (but money chaging hands for power station construction contracts).

They don't want people to know anything. They don't want information spread. And they don't want people communicating with each other. That's the connection between libraries and electricity.

If you need more evidence that this whole thing is about control and about making money for the west, there you go: they're intentionally not hooking the plants up to the power grid, and they're not rebuilding bombed out libraries.

4. plausible but ...
my theory is that al Qaeda is actually a loosely knit association of librarians ... for years, they trained these undercover librarians at their secret bases in Afghanistan ...

then, at just the right moment, they were planning to strike and take over Iraq ...

the WHIG uncovered this devious plot just in the nick of time and that's why all the libraries were bombed ... also, i'm told that they refused to put Libby's pornographic book in their libraries so that may have been a contributing factor as well ...

of course, i could be wrong about this ...

6. pro life, my ass
Every day, the Neocons murder for $$$$$$$$

Every day, their supporters use the "Pro-Life" rationale to explain their enabling of murderers.

Sometimes, my head spins trying to figure out how they get away with this.
