lily-livered motherfuckers?
http://www.gnn.tv/headlines/5899/GOP_Leaders_to_Bush_Your_Presidency_is_Effectively_Over

snip:

When a GOP strategist suggested last weekend that the President fire Rove, Bush exploded.

“You go to hell,” he screamed at the strategist. “You can leave and you can take the rest of these lily-livered motherfuckers with you!” The President then stormed out of the room and refused to meet further with any other party leaders or strategists.

Bush’s escalating temper tantrums and his intransigence on political issues increase Republican worries about the long term effects on both his presidency and the party’s prospects in upcoming elections.

1. Isn't he a sweet heart?
Just oozing with leadership and inspiration for his staff. I think he will eventually turn his base to liberals. They will be pro-choice, wishing barbara had chosen to abort him.

What exactly is "lilly-livered?"

2. hmmm
Could it be that Bush is so set in his ways that he won't fire Rove? Personally, I can only see it as good for us, because it keeps the stench of corruption right there in the WH.

I say let him rot "in situ", stewing in his own putrid juice, until the indictments start raining down. The ultimate public awakening and outcry will be all the more powerful. SG

3. looks like he will be martyred soon, better a martyred than a liability
at this rate his own father will give him the grape Kool-Aid

how come it hasn't been a issue that Poppy fired Rove for doing the same thing during his administration.. just flat fired him, no debate

4. Warning: Doug Thompson (CHB) post
I know some like him, but I've seen many posts here saying he's not credible.

But, it is a fun read. And the part about staff being uncomfortable with Rove's continued presence was reported in the M$M.

He has friends in high places, and they talk! A lot of them go for a meal after an AA meeting, and who knows what gets brought up???

Edited on Sat Nov-05-05 01:18 PM by Eric J in MN
Either they have a secret source, or they make stuff up.

I'm guessing the latter.

7. Not that this isn't just a LOVELY little story
I don't trust the source. I can make up cool stuff, too.

I'll call it GRANNIE CAPITAL EDITION

and my first story will be that it has been revealed that every morning secret service agents must remove GWB's head from his butt before he can get showered and dressed.

It's almost as if the lilly-livered phrase is the author's hint that it's made up. More likely just bad writing.

29. Yeah, as much as "I wish" many of the articles in Capitol Hill Blue ...
were true, few to none can be backed up by other news sources.

Bummer man! But nope, I wouldn't put my faith on their claims without other media supporting them.

10. Fabulous! Bubbble-Boy Really Is Rove's Puppet
This kind of behavior makes Bush look as immature and stubborn as we have read for many years that he is. As long as things are going great and the country is drinking his Kool-Aid, our boy swaggers and smirks his way through the scripts and finds all of his marks.

But at times like this, when actual leadership skills are required, in a head that has an informed and grounded sense of the gravity of the situation he is in, our boy can't cut it and leaves the scene in a snit. It is tempting to believe that Bush perceives that without Karl Rove at his side he simply cannot perform his role as president. Frightening, but not totally out of the question.

The insistence on hearing nothing but supporting points-of-view and being surrounded by cheerleaders rather than open and honest advisers has put this president in a precarious place, and I see no clues that he has yet started to "get it".

False.

If this is what you meant, why would you post something so easily disproved?

Also - at home: If "we" want independent Iraqis, we must leave now!

Georgie, you and your War Profiteer friends are going to have go fight your own War$. Wasting our Common-wealth!!! En-Slaving our children. Shame.

And the Religious "Right" has just had a major premature-ejaculation: Harriet M. might actually have been more Their own Puppet, more their cup-of-tea. :applause:

Reid was actually trying to work with you on that one.

24. If this is true
(and I have my doubts) I would expect that some in his own party will start turning on him just like they did with Nixon.

THe Republicans know they are in trouble and might just want to see Bush gone before they all end up losing their jobs in the mid-terms.

We shall see.
