in the world worth living. One where America stays king even though resourcewise & populationwise there is no logical reason for it to remain so well into the future.
They are Utopians.
So they imposed their narrow vision on the world and messed up. I mean, to not have a plan for war that matched the generals in terms of numbers of troops, & to not have a plan for after the War and terrorism, was just creepily incompetent.
They were drinking their own kool-aid. So they made the intelligence fit with what they wanted. If they had been right - the proof would have been there and "business cando of the mighty Haliburton" would have rebuilt Iraq.
Corporations are only good at making money. They don't build societies. Markets and community builds societies. And communication and understanding.
I mean it is not as if they didn't have examples from South Africa of what to do when a population has been decimated by monsters. You forgive really fast and be transparent. You put the worst of the worst on trial. You open the borders to trade that never existed before (not close the borders to corporations outside the USA - keeping prices & the market artificially low).
Neocons are Utopians. They mistake the wonder of the market - which is many people making many decisions with good information - with corporations.
A small group of monopolies never worked for the Soviet Union. Why the hell would it work in Iraq?
