2 Year Old Dem Intel Committee Memo---Interesting Read
Edited on Sun Nov-06-05 11:58 PM by Mr_Jefferson_24
This two year old memo circulated among Democrats on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence is painted by Sean Hannity as unethical anti-Bush plotting that should be investigated by the Senate Ethics Committee. Amazing.

http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2003/11/4/165925.shtml

-----snip-----

The document, obtained and disclosed by nationally syndicated radio host Sean Hannity Tuesday afternoon, suggests that the top priority among senior Democrats entrusted with guarding the nation's security is instead driving the Bush administration from power based on claims it exaggerated intelligence on the threat posed by Iraq.

The memo as reported by Hannity reads as follows:

"We have carefully reviewed our options under the rules and believe we have identified the best approach. Our plan is as follows:

"1) Pull the majority along as far as we can on issues that may lead to major new disclosures regarding improper or questionable conduct by administration officials. We are having some success in that regard.

-----snip-----

How dare Democrats strategize as to how they might bring BushCo's criminal activities (intentionally misleading us into an illegal war)to the attention of the general public---downright unethical. They should be investigated.

3. Hannity has fetal alcohol syndrome
<snip>
"The revelation that Democrats are using the intelligence committee to conduct opposition research for the coming presidential campaign demands an investigation by the Senate Ethics Committee, Hannity said."

What the hell else is an "intelligence committee" for? LOL

6. Are you suggesting...
...that there was no such memo, or that NewsMax distorted it, or that Hannity didn't make the remarks attributed to him? I don't regard NewsMax as a credible source for objective reporting either (they're RW partisans), but that doesn't mean "anything" they report is "pure and utter bullshit."

Here's a source that may be more to your liking that briefly talks about this memo and a remark Pat Roberts made about it:

7. No, but I'm saying I don't even bother reading anything my NewsMax
The CBS article is interesting in that Roberts says Dems are "politicizing" the report and that Dems are "giving comfort" to terrorists. Same old shit they've been dishing out since 9/11. The only difference is it's not rallying the right wingers like it used to.

Combine this with DeLay's trying to tie budget deficits to mismanagement by the Dems, Frist's poll labeling Dems as everything except sane, and Libbie Dole's e-mail that the Dems are moving radically to the left and it looks like they are grasping for a life vest but there's not one to be had.

They are slowly drowning in their own shit.

10. Their amazing lies and ...
...gross distortions do seem to be catching up with them. Corporate media's complicity with such obvious lies, rather than aggressively challenging and exposing them, is something I will neither forgive nor forget. The Neocons takeover of our nation could have been stopped with a responsible national mainstream media.

8. Yeah Mr. Hannity, I'd like to talk about his subject too.
Let's start with *. How much does he know? When did he know? Did he promulgate or condone these actions?

Do tell, I'm all ears.
