Rant on press take on Bush's descent!
I hate the press. I really HATE the press!!!

This morning I'm reading my local rag online, and there's an article supposedly analyzing Bush's low poll ratings.

But guess what? They're blaming it on irrationality in people who they say are turning against Bush because of his personality traits or physical idiosyncracies.

IOW, they're blaming it on the people!

Does it occur to the presstitutes that Bush has low approval ratings because he deserves them... because he is one of the stupidest, amoral, uncaring, inhuman, corporo-fascist puppets that ever served in office, though he wasn't really elected by the people... who really don't like him.

Yes, he has his stupid base... and yes, Texans are moranic fools. But that doesn't mean that Bush isn't one of the worst presidents ever and it doesn't mean that he deserves to hold office.

I HATE the press! And I really don't approve of Bush, and I'm rational.

Any rational person would dislike Bush and disapprove of him.

Sue

1. How irritating. I think it would be more accurate to blame the people
for his initial higher ratings ... because he certainly didn't do anything to justify his popularity.

2. I was thinking the same thing
that if anything his personal "quirks" are what duped people in the first place.

5. Yes, that's the right take!
It's irrational for anyone to approve of Bush, even for money and power, even for a company that wants money and power.

I really hate presstitutes!

3. So feisty!
I agree, though. Sometimes I wonder if I have somehow slipped into a parallel universe. I can't believe how the media has deteriorated to the level of a cheer leading obfuscation squad, especially where this corrupt, amoral and evil administration is concerned.

4. Bush critics irrational, should be ignored. Same old tactic
of finding reasons why anyone anti Bush should be ignored. They are irrational, it's just politics in an election year, now's not the time to criticize, there's only one president Bush won.

As long as nobody is listening to Anti Bush talk, then they win by default.

7. They basically are calling people who disapprove of Bush stupid.
And that is completely ass-backwards. Bush's supporters are the ones who say stupid shit like "Gotta support our leader.", "If you're not with the president you're with the terrorists", "Supply-side is good for the poor.", and "We can't let those who died die in vain.".

I disapprove of Bush's job performance because of serious policy critiques such as:
-He has gotten us into an intractible situation in Iraq for no reason
-He has plunged the nation into a fiscal mess
-He has alienated the United States from any friends in the world
-He has used fear and coersion to push through a radical right agenda
-He has no respect for individual rights
-He has run the government incompetently at home while putting cronies in top positions.

I could go on, but you get the point.

8. Still doesn't beat the write-up he got from the Weekly Standard.
During the run-up to his re-election, my FIL showed me an article explaining why Bush was the right guy.

They pointed out that even though he was an idiot, a failure, and a slacker - he was tough on terror. And this trumped all of his other problems.

This was all the proof my father needed to vote for him a second time. My guess this worked for a bunch of other people.

10. Yeah, it worked. It got him elected.
Think about it. In every other policy -- health care, education, jobs, etc. -- more people believed in Kerry than in Bush. But when it came to dcealing with terrorism, WAY more people believed in Bush.

Now, think about this -- terrorism as an issue was never really even brought up in election polls before 9/11, except during the 1980 hostage crisis (which may have lost that election for Jimmy Carter).

So, terrorism becomes an issue under Bush's watch, but he is the man who can deal with it. Without the issue, Bush would lose, which gives him a pretty good reason not to deal with it in any case. And they wonder why we haven't found Bin Laden.

11. Yup.
If he fixes the problem that came about due his deriliction of duty, he wouldn't be re-elected.

At the same time, if it were to be fixed he wouldn't be able to pass so much taxpayer money to all of his supporters - Halliburton, Bechtel, Big Pharma, and others.

9. In defense of the press...
Well, not really defending them. But I would point out one thing -- they attributed his popularity to the same thing that you say they are now attributing his unpopularity to.

When he was popular, the press said people liked Bush because of his personality. Because he seemed like an "average guy" who you'd "like to have a beer with." Remember?

So if they say that people don't like him for his personality now, it makes you wonder -- has his personality changed?

Indeed, maybe the president has Multiple Personality Disorder. It seems to be the logical explanation at this point. Among his many personalities are: A blue-collar Joe Six Pack who pulled himself up by his own bootstraps to one day own a cattle ranch; a whiny, petulant 10-year-old boy who has to have his own way; a stupid but cunning politician with a nasty vindictive streak; a born-again Christian who gave up booze and accepted Jesus H. Christ as his Lord and Savior; a relentless alcoholic who mainlines Jim Beam; and a 5-year-old girl named Rita.

That last one has only been seen in recent days, and only by those who know the president well. They find him late at night in the West Wing, curled up in a corner of the Lincoln Bedroom and weeping quietly to himself. But it'll all come out in the end.
