4. Santorum's our most obvious pickup in the Senate in 2006...
I'm more worried about Missouri and Tennessee.

6. Thinking of TN
Yanno, it's a shame that Frist is retiring. With the HBA investigation, the Schiavo diagnosis, and his crybaby tantrum last week, all the Democrat would have to do to beat him is show up :)

7. I called Frist's Nashville office last
week after the episode on TV. I shamed him on his outrageous performance. It was shameful for Tennesseans and for the country. I feel he did much harm to his supposedly "run" for the presidency. At least I hope he did.

8. Yeah, maybe....
He's still the incumbent in a mostly red state, so I think Frist retiring is, despite the man's obvious idiocies, a good thing. I'd rather pit our boy Ford against a more-unknown contender, and start them both off on equal footing.

That said, Frist's HBA scandal would at least dim the light of the similar problems with Ford's uncle -- in light of scandal by the actual candidate, scandal by the candidate's family is nothing. But Frist's problems may overshadow Ford's whether Frist runs for Senate or not -- the obvious reason for such a young guy to drop out of the Senate is to run for president, and so his scandals (which should stick to the TN GOP party, whether they like it or not) could still come home to haunt the GOP senate candidate -- who I think will probably be Ed Bryant, after a tough primary against Van Hillary and Bob Corker. If Corker wins the primary, he'll probably carry the state, though.

9. Ford will pull it out in Tennessee
VERY weak field of Republicans. Ford just released an internal poll showing him up against all three GOP candidates. He's a formidable candidate and is raising a lot of money. He's also more conservative than the typical Democrat and he'll pull a lot of disgruntled middle of the road voters.

10. Hope so ...
If we can pull off TN and MO and defend NJ, I think we can take back the Senate.
