1. McIlvaine's are Kerry campaign associates of mine! Way to
go Rob and Judy!

Are you a Pennsylvanian?

2. Yes, I'm a Pennsylvanian. Coatesville, specifically...
...where a big eminent domain battle has been going on. Unfortunately, a lot of Dems have been behind taking the land, and generally taking the city to the brink of financial ruin. Luckily, it looks like at least some of the City Council is going to be replaced with better Dems.

5. Excellent news!
So it looks like no matter how Kitzmiller v. Dover Board of Ed gets decided, there isn't going to be any ID in Dover classrooms once the new board is in place.

What I'm curious about is this: Suppose, as I fully expect, the plaintiffs (the anti-ID side) win the court case. Would it be solely up to the totally disinclined new school board whether or not to appeal a decision against the old school board, or could others involved in the case, like the Thomas More Law Center, be able to appeal the court's decision?

The sad thing for the new school board and the Dover school district is that a decision in favor of the plaintiffs means that the Dover school district bears the burden of the court costs incurred by the old school board's losing battle -- money which would have been much better spent on the students.

6. I think the Thomas More Law Center was only assisting the
defendants....which is to say, they would not of themselves have any standing in court.

The money issue is one of the reasons the incumbents lost. Some people did not really care one way or the other about the ID issue, but the fact that they would allow this to go to a fed court at their expense really burned them. Kind of reinforces the point that the best way to win a repukes heart is by grabbing them in the pocket...seems to be the place where almost all of their feelings lie.
