The Swiftboating of Patrick Fitzgerald
Edited on Tue Nov-08-05 11:21 PM by Vyan
After spending years trying to show that Joseph Wilson is a "Proven Liar" (Newt Gingrich), the Right makes it's next move on Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald with a page right out of the Swiftboating Manual...

MediaMatters.com has been reporting for some time that Fox Contributor Andrew Napolitano has claimed that "at least one" of his Fox colleagues has claimed that they were present at a party where former ambassador Joseph C. Wilson IV introduced Valerie Plame as "my CIA operative wife." This past Saturday on a WABC radio broadcast and in an "exclusive" report tonight on Hannity & colmes "at least one" of these colleagues has come forward with the specifics of his claim.

His name is Maj Gen Paul Vallely (ret), a Fox Military Analyst, who proclaimed that he had met Wilson in the Fox Green Room in Washington and that during casual conversation Wilson mentioned that his Wife "worked at the CIA". During the segment colmes as for specific dates where the two men might have been in the same Green Room, but he Vallely couldn't provide specifics - although he did mention that this allegedly occured during the "Summer and early Fall of 2002" - over a year before the Novak column which publically announced Valerie's employement to the world.

colmes played a portion of the Fitzgerald Press Conference:

>Valerie Wilson was a CIA officer. In July 2003, the fact that Valerie Wilson was a CIA officer was classified. Not only was it classified, but it was not widely known outside the intelligence community.
Valerie Wilson's friends, neighbors, college classmates had no idea she had another life.
The fact that she was a CIA officer was not well- known, for her protection or for the benefit of all us. It's important that a CIA officer's identity be protected, that it be protected not just for the officer, but for the nation's security.
Valerie Wilson's cover was blown in July 2003. The first sign of that cover being blown was when Mr. Novak published a column on July 14th, 2003.

Apparently Gen Vallely has never been called, or voluanteered any information directly to Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald - and while talking with Hannity went on to question the "depth" Fitzgerald's investigation, claiming it was incomplete" and "should be considered null and void".

According to Gen Vallely:

 • Fitzgerald and the FBI never talked to anyone at CIA to confirm Valerie's status.
 • Valerie Flame (he never called her Plame or Wilson - which really goes to show how on the ball this guy was) "we now know was an analyst, not a covert agent"
 • Fitzgerald and the FBi didn't even talk to Joe Wilson under oath.
 • It was common knowledge at State and CIA that Valerie Flame was an analyst, but not a covert agent.
 • Wilson's didn't sign a confidentiality agreement with the CIA, and wasn't one of their employees.

Hannity went on to proclaim that Wilson's Op-Ed in the New York Times is what outed his wife...
"if keeping her identify secret was so important - why right the article and risk that"? Naturally, Gen. Vallely agreed with this assertion.

5. No damn kidding...
...all these Republican (same as the Swiftscum) can do, at this point of desperate--is lie, lie, lie. Then lie some more. Then lie again.

They are all fricking liars.

Their lies are becoming so absurd, that I feel sorry for them.

Yeah, Wilson introduced his wife as "my CIA operative wife."

Oh please.

If she was so obviously covert---then why did Rove and Libby spend so much time selling the information that she was a CIA agent? Why was this fodder for the gossip and whispered conversations if it was common knowledge that she worked for the CIA.

These pathetic weasels and their lies don't even make sense any more.

They're in the same stage that the Wicked Witch of the West was in--when she got water poured on her and she melted. They're slowly morphing into a puddle of goo.

What a world...what a world...

3. I met Wilson at a monster truck rally
and he introduced his wife as "My wife who is a covert CIA agent working undercover for the CIA in a covert role. At the CIA. Did I mention she's covertly undercover?"

7. It's one thing to go after a candidate for political office....
...it's quite another to go after a Special Prosecutor with ALL of the powers of the old Independent Counsel, including unlimited funding.

8. Then why did Libby lie
repeatedly?

All the other stuff is just smoke and mirrors. Libby lied. HE seemed to think he had to for some reason. So why risk 30 years in jail for nothing????

10. One thing they never seem to run out of,
High ranking military people who will lie with an indignent tone to help conservatives. Buzz Aldrich, O'Neill, Poindexter, North, all people with military background who will lie over and over again for RW political agendas. They never run out of those guys who think they can stand over you and spout fiction that you adult children should believe or otherwise, "YOU have no patriotism or decency". Then we always get to hear what super-patriots they are, as they assist vile politicians that would sell our country for a nickel down the river.

11. They are lying so blatantly now it's clear that they want to get caught.
They're tired of the deceptions. They just want it all to be over with. Slap the cuffs on them.

13. So would this General be willing to tell his story under oath?
And what reason would Libby have to lie? Are they going to rely on this man as a witness for the defense?
