Watch out CA: San Diego and Orange Ctys heavily favor Arnold's props
and aren't fully counted. They also are having high turnout and they have high numbers of voters.

All the Bay Area counties are heavily against Arnold's propositions but they're having low turnout.

LA Cty could be the make or break county and they're splitting roughly on the close ones.

So the night isn't over. Keep an eye on San Diego and Orange Ctys.

2. LAC's turnout is terribly low -- 9.6%. SDC and OC are over 25%.
I'm a little worried.

3. LAC is becoming slightly more "NO" as counting proceeds
and OC is becoming a little less YES, but still between 55-60% yes.

Alameda is still strongly NO, but not a ton of votes there.

4. L.A. turnout
Channel 9 in L.A. said the turnout in L.A. was 40% as of a hour before the polls closed.

5. I just realized that the turnout listed is based on number of votes cntd
So, if they do have high turnout, it will totally offset SDC and OC (which, combined, don't have as many registered voters as LAC), and then Alameda will be the icing on the cake.

6. I know it's freaking me out... it's 11:08 pm and the Union initiative is
so tight that a few minutes ago it looked like it was going down and then it just flipped - but by less than 1% - it's running very tight.

7. my polling place was 40% turnout. was a pollworker there.
a touch heavy republican, too. and the results... straight outta the diebold machines... da, da, tah-dah! all props NO by huge obscene margins.

FYI more republicans used the diebold machines than democrats (who ended up using so many provisional ballots) and had a higher turnout where i am. dude, republicans must be pissed at their reps... perhaps their anger saved us i guess.

but! dems, get your house in order! there's something to be said about discipline. go talk to your friends and each one who says they didn't vote grab a chair and smash it over their head, just as a reminder that you'll violently assault them each time they don't do their civic duty. if no one else will hold them accountable that's what abusive friends and family are for. a few times physically assaulting your loved ones will eventually get them in the proper disciplined frame of mind to get out and vote -- even if they don't want to. even if they think it's all rigged, all for nothing, and there's no hope left -- vote anyway, or else i'll hurt you.

in fact, keep it like a bumber sticker: "remember loved ones -- every time you forget to vote i get to beat you senseless and send you to the hospital." eventually correct behavior will come about. sometimes negative reinforcement is good!
