Phil Angelides for California Governor (endorsed by Boxer, Pelosi)
Angelides 2006 Honorary Campaign Co-Chairs

United States Senator Barbara Boxer

U.S. House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi

As Honorary Co-Chairs of the Angelides 2006 campaign, we are writing to ask that you join us in supporting Phil Angelides, Democrat for Governor in 2006.

Over the past few years we have seen our common values come under attack. Governor Schwarzenegger is retreating from California’s historic commitments to the things that matter to working families: good public schools, broad access to college, quality health care, and a fair and balanced budget.

But there is one man who can help put California back on track: Phil Angelides.

We have known Phil Angelides for years and respect him as a man of ideas and compassion. Phil has been the leading Democratic voice in standing up to Governor Schwarzenegger’s attacks on students, teachers, nurses, firefighters, police officers, working families and future generations.

Phil has a better vision for California – a path of fairness, increased opportunity, and investments in California’s future. That is why Phil would make a great Governor for California.

Phil has spent his career taking on tough challenges. When he was elected Chair of the California Democratic Party in 1991, Phil didn’t back away from the challenge. With your help, he turned the party around. Phil opened more than 100 local campaign offices, registered over one million new voters and mobilized 50,000 volunteers. On election night in 1992, California became the first state in the nation to elect two women to the United States Senate and Bill Clinton became the first Democrat to carry California in 28 years.

Phil has always stood with us when it mattered, and we will always stand with him. We hope you’ll join us and add your name to the Angelides for Governor endorsement list by filling out the attached endorsement form and faxing or mailing it back to the campaign headquarters, or endorse online.

California needs Phil Angelides in the Governor's office.

Best regards,

United States Senator Barbara Boxer
U.S. House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi

Endorse Phil Angelides Today!

3. Ready here!
I know there are a lot of issues for Angelides to hit on but I hope he places more focus on the promises Arnold made, to slam Davis, and didn't deliver on. There are two that come to mind. He really went after Davis for all the fund raising he did but Arnold has done more and raised more than Davis. He also promised he would be different, not be a politician or be swayed by corporate influence.

The people that voted for him surely regret being dazzled by this guy and will come to their senses.

As I've said before, he announced early that he would run for re-election only to get the donations needed for this special election. Regardless of the outcome tonight, I don't believe he will run for another term. With an ego like his, run away is more like it.

Good riddance!
