What went wrong in Ohio (again) - disgusting email from Bob Bennett

I subscribed to the Ohio GOP email list during the 2004 presidential campaign. Received by by email from "Chairman Bob Bennett" <bbennett@ohiogop.org>

Disgusting!



We did it! Thanks to your hard work and resolve, Ohioans stood up against an assault on the integrity of our elections and won.

The voters have a right to keep the politicians accountable, and today they defended that right.

The fight against these issues has energized our party and motivated our base. They enabled us to continue building our grassroots organization and we are better prepared for the 2006 statewide election because of it.

We made hundreds of thousands of phone calls, knocked on thousands of doors, handed out literature at events throughout the state, and spread the word neighbor-to-neighbor in every community.

Our campaign was truly a grassroots effort by Ohioans who care about their state and their government. Theirs was a national campaign of liberal activists and special interest groups who cared only about a left-wing political agenda.

This victory proves yet again that the Republican Party is still the party of good government and reform, and Democrats continue to be the party of protest and pessimism.

Tonight, we can celebrate a hard-fought victory together. Tomorrow, we will get back to work on carrying this amazing momentum into November 2006!
