Downplaying Democratic Wins
I felt that the Today Show tried to downplay the wins of the Democratics yesterday. Even though they (the Today Show) talked about the Virginia and New Jersey wins they did not talk much about the win in California. I only watched the first few minutes of the Today Show, but they mentioned the VA. and NJ. wins numerous times while they only mentioned the California win once in the reading of the daily headlines. In my opinion the win(s) in California are just as big as the VA. and NJ wins. I put the s in parathenes after win in that we could regard California as one big win or a series of big wins in that all of the propositions that Schwarzenegger supported were voted down. So it seems to me that the Today Show is trying to downplay the wins of the Democrats. So what do you think is the media trying to downplay how big a win the Democrats got last night?

1. The Media are NOT OUR friends, we should STOP thinking that they ARE
If the Repukes would have won last night, the mediawhores would be ORGASMIC...they'd run with "See Junior's POPULAR, the polls saying the country HATES him are WRONG"

Notice yesterday how the elections, Virginia in particular, were going to be a test to see if Junior was making a comeback? Notice today, how quiet these bastards are on this issue they were talking about YESTERDAY.

The media are NOT OUR friends, they'd slit our throats given the chance, they're BOUGHT AND PAID for ten times over by the Repukes.

FORGET the media, yesterday PROVED that like Junior, they too ARE irrelevent.

2. Apparently
the media has less an effect than we were worried about. They can cheerlead for someone as much as they want but when the bad news comes out the people apparently can make up their minds to do the right thing regardless what the media is saying. At least that is how I see this. People do not like to be lied to. The media will change once people start turning them off because they are sick of it. We really do need to do something about it though. It had a big effect prior to Bush** taking a nose dive (or 6).

3. It doesn't matter. The people know who they voted for. They know they
are fed up with BushCo and the fundies.

This will start to wake them up because they will be saying. I'm fed up, my friends and family are fed up too and I'm not hearing anything about it in the news.

It will backfire. Trust me.

4. Yesterday on CNBC they were saying it could be a blow to the
repukes if the dems won some of the races. Today, they are minimizing the wins, saying it doesn't mean anything cuz these are traditionally blue areas anyway.

BTW, that Kudlow guy -- I can't stand him. I wish someone would put us out of our misery & get that fuck off the air. All he does is whine about how the oil companies need all their profits & we shouldn't put a windfall tax on them, & that Karl Rove needs to get back to the business of running the country, so we should ease up on him. Hello, you stupid shit! Do you even realize what you've just admitted by stating this? That your beloved leader boosh doesn't have what it takes to run the country & needs someone else to help him. Holy crap, what a fucking jerk.

5. They can play it any way they want but still Bush went in and
campaigned in VA for the Repuke and he actually went down in polls.

What about the mayor's race in St. Paul. That idiot endorsed Bush and 47% I believe said in a poll that actually they were voting against the candidate that endorsed Bush.

I just hope the dems keep things going, establish some good candidates for 2006 and keep the heat on the republicans.

You already have Biden going soft on the supreme court nominee which was to be expected. However, maybe not a bad idea if they concentrate on other issues they can win on.

Anyway, great win for the dems last night and especially where it was directed against Bush policies.

6. Two things in CA are huge. The right lost an abortion issue.
They tried to insert into the state constitution that a fetus was an unborn child. And the right lost the redistricting prop.

So MSM should say that but I don't think they ever will. NPR did not have much on CA but did say that Democratic New York voted for a Repub mayor.

They won't talk much about it but the tide is surely turning against the right.
