Monica Crowley calls NJ and VA "imperfect predictors of what's to come"
She just asked Norah O'Donnell if, given past results, New Jersey and Virginia are "imperfect predictors of what is to come, and is it not dangerous to read too much into it at this point?"

O'Donnell replied "That's exactly what the experts are saying, Monica!"

THE SPIN IS IN.

They can dish it out, but they can't take it.

When the Revolution comes, give those ladies to me, and then just lock the door on your way out .............

8. I'm guessing the response would have been "mandate"...
...followed by Rick Santorum reading a few chapters from his book on family values.

11. That's an old shot that I Googled...she's on MSNBC.
She's got that kind of evil, pinched face, so whenever I post her comments I always like to inclue a picture for the "full effect."

lost their asses last night, and will probably continue to do so.

12. Well she has to say that doesn't she?
Otherwise they would take her hair away. What a helmet. I swear to god I see a chin strap.

And what else can they say that the president is poached like a salmon and that the GOP's only real chance to win in 2006 is run like hell from him saying: "he's not one of them, and they never really liked him anyway, he never bathed. "

They are going to be trying to put lipstick on this pig for a long time.

Edited on Wed Nov-09-05 12:23 PM by kenny blankenship
Danger! Danger! Don't think we won't reverse this, Democrats, because we will...

...and you know how!

Go ahead and cast your little ballots, but we Republicans OWN this country and with ownership comes certain prerogatives, a deciding ballot in the final disposition of any political matter.

We own the country, and as part of that, we also own those ballot machines you think control the government.

15. there is something to what these shills are saying ....
as long as dems run under the "We sucks less than the Republicans" like in 2002 and 2004 then they're aren't going to win in huge numbers

16. Oh yeah, meaningless results all across the country
Certainly no indications there that Bushy is in any kind of trouble, or that the electorate has soured on Chimpy and his corrupt administration.

Keep whistling, girls. You'll be by that graveyard in no time at all.

24. not in a national sense
the problem with the msm is in trying to see the bigger picture when there may not be one. 2001 was a good indicator of where virginia democrats are headed when talking about state politics. warner's election didn't stop bush from getting more tax cuts, getting the patriot act, daschle losing his seat, helping take back at least a few seats in congress, etc. etc.

it did set up a style of message delivery and a pragmatic approach to government that virginians appreciate and reward, because you only saw extremist anti tax groups going after warner and the moderates in the house of delegates, there was no general backlash. in fact, the complete opposite. warner's approval ratings shot through the roof, and the way to win this year was to be as much like warner as possible.

as much as i'd like it to be a referendum on bush, we have to face the facts that there are local concerns that people here have more urgency to address. yes, there was a backlash against the gop in northern virginia, but again, that comes out of a backlash towards the extreme right wing as an ideology, not as a party, and not as a reflection of bush.

19. Um, yes, it *is* dangerous to read too much.
People read a lot into our off-year victories in the SD and KY Congressional races. Just like the GOP read way too much into its 1994 landslides. Celebrate what should celebrated and don't become overconfident.
