"We don't do torture, and we will stop right now and never do it again."

4. when Bush is defending the torture issue..........
........he said something like they are not guilty of torture practices and he added that they are not doing anything that's against the law.

When I heard him say that, I thought..........yes and if you are doing something against the law, you'll just make a new law to allow you continue to do what you're doing anyway!

6. How bout, "We don't torture (wink) (wink), we follow the law.
Now don't pass a law we will have to break to continue torturing, or you will have to be very afraid that somebody will get you."

"My mericah; Land of the free, and home of the afraid!"

7. I've been thinking, Bush just has no intent to use English honestly.
We understand exactly what he is saying about torture and law. We know! But their use of the English language is so tortured that any actual meaning is simply incomprehensible.

When I listen to lil Scotty McMoonface, it is obvious they expect three distinct meanings to be extracted by target audience.

1. For Liberals: They said nothing technically incriminating.
2. For moderates that aren't listening closely: They say nothing that will get attention.
3. For their base: They communicate clearly they are breaking the law and torturing.

And now we see that if they slip up on point one, they just go back can change the transcript.
