UPDATED Was Ronald Reagan's administration the most corrupt in history
Edited on Wed Nov-09-05 05:41 PM by Amy6627
I just found this link: http://liberalslikechrist.org/about/reagan.html

Here is a clip:
The contenders for the title of "the most corrupt administration in American history" are all Republican administrations. It may be hard to order them exactly, but the contenders for the first, second, third & fourth "most corrupt administrations in American history" are the Republican administrations of Grant, Harding, Nixon and Reagan.

I would venture the very long, excruciating * admin. But I know there have been far worst, far more often than I would like. And not all of them have been pukes.

Here's an article which gives you some more history:

15. raygun, bush1 and bushco* are all fruit of the same tree...
these aren't separate (mis)administrations, but new incarnations of the "public management" wing of a thriving international mega concern. Yes Virginia, there really is a military/industrial complex and it has joined hands with big petroleum. One of its front names is carlyle and is bankrolled by the al sauds and the texas white-boy, petroleum mafia. bushco* is the culmination of years of work and planning.

3. I think most of the corruption part was being handled by Poppy Bush
and his dirty operations.

Reagan was wrong for giving Poppy free rein on the Mideast, oil policy, amd South America.

10. Andrew Jackson
He was the first President to use the "spoils system" where he gave jobs away through patronage?

6. As A General Rule Of Thumb, Ma'am
Edited on Wed Nov-09-05 05:37 PM by The Magistrate
The most recent Republican administration is the most corrupt in the nation's history. There were one or two occassions since President Lincoln when that has not been true, but it is accurate enough for government work, as the saying goes. The classic corrupt administrations, Grant, Hayes, Harding, all were Republican, and the recent ones have quite put these in the shade....

"LET'S GO GET THOSE BUSH BASTARDS!"

7. I can only speak to recent history, but the Bush WH has to be the worst
Considering this administration has some of the worst offenders from the Nixon and Reagan Admininistrations, I would say its a slam dunk.

8. Bad but not the worst
Grant and Harding were probably more corrupt than Raygun. Chimpy will be the standard of comparison for the foreseeable future.
