Will Rove hubris antagonize Fitz?
Rove had his little 'coming out' party at the Federalist Society the other night, opening his speech with "My name is Karl, and I am not a lawyer". (from: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/11/10/AR2005111002471.html)

Rove is, we know, still under investigation. In recent days, "Fitzgerald has reinterviewed several witnesses with knowledge of Rove's role in the Plame leak and talked with attorneys of other potential witnesses" (from http://nationaljournal.com/about/njweekly/stories/2005/1112nj_waas.htm). Could it be that brazen, arrogant behavior by Rove, the appearance that he is up to his old tricks, might provoke Fitz to indict (or not)sooner than later?

It's probably wishful thinking on my part. I think Rove's fingerprints were all over that disgusting, tasteless Veteran's Day Bush speech. Since AWOL is only a veteran of a bar stool and not an actual war, he couldn't have empathy or understanding or RESPECT for what that day means for veterans, their families, and the rest of us who are ever-thankful for their sacrifice. The AWOL Chimp used that somber day to pimp his catastrophic war, and as another DUer wisely put it, proclaim "I am not a Crook!".

2. love it- the MSM had better stick with this one
But Bush does not share his most sensitive intelligence, such as the President's Daily Brief, with lawmakers. Also, the National Intelligence Estimate summarizing the intelligence community's views about the threat from Iraq was given to Congress just days before the vote to authorize the use of force in that country.

In addition, there were doubts within the intelligence community not included in the NIE. And even the doubts expressed in the NIE could not be used publicly by members of Congress because the classified information had not been cleared for release. For example, the NIE view that Hussein would not use weapons of mass destruction against the United States or turn them over to terrorists unless backed into a corner was cleared for public use only a day before the Senate vote.

The lawmakers are partly to blame for their ignorance. Congress was entitled to view the 92-page National Intelligence Estimate about Iraq before the October 2002 vote. But, as The Washington Post reported last year, no more than six senators and a handful of House members read beyond the five-page executive summary.

Even within the Bush administration, not everybody consistently viewed Iraq as what Hadley called "an enormous threat." In a news conference in February 2001 in Egypt, then-Secretary of State Colin L. Powell said of the economic sanctions against Hussein's Iraq: "Frankly, they have worked. He has not developed any significant capability with respect to weapons of mass destruction."

3. My 'take' on it IS that Fitz has not indicted Doughboy yet, since he

figures Dougboy will get arrogant, and relax, and slip-up anew...like he is with these arrogant speeches, etc. Laugh all he wants, I'll just bet Doughboy is on boxes of Rolaids and Preparation H.

Fitz hasn't taken his eyes off Doughboy at all. Just sitting back and 'watching'...from a far.
