If we ended the war today, would it matter to you that Bush lied an got

I would take ending the war if it meant Bush got credit for it and got away with his lies. I think that's what he will do to improve his poll numbers. It is the only card he has left to play other than letting another terrorist attack happen, because more and more people are turning against him and the war. It could also have the effect of preventing another terrorist attack.

I would rather the lies were out in the open and we ended the war, that way Bush could not gain from it.

I also I think that if we ended the war now, PNAC would have to give up it's plan for the world and Bush's backers would not get control of the oil. That could also be a plus.

and Bush and his mob--Cheney, Rumsfeld, Powell-- should go to jail for whatever term international law specifies for war crimes.

States clearly that unprovoked agression is the supreme war crime. I would be very unhappy to see them walk away from a tribunal.

Does NOT wipe their slate clean. Does NOT let US corporations who engaged in war profiteering off the hook.

They all pay for their crimes. They cannot restore the lives they threw away. They cannot restore the families they have shredded, but dammit, they pay for the crimes with hard time.

I want to see the troops come home. I'd rather he get away with the deceit and the solders live than the other way around.

His life is already worthless, and it won't change my image of him, but if I have to read one more obit in the Tribune my heart will rend.

end the war...and then still require that justice also be served..in the courts of the USA...and of the world.

I'd accept him saying, "they've got a new government, they've got a constitution, our job is done, let's come home".

It's an awful situation with no good solution. IMO, leaving now would ensure that Iraq will turn into a repressive fundamentalist state, which would not be good for the Iraqi people, the US, the middle east, or the world. But on the other hand, I think that there is a better than even chance it will turn into that anyway, after hundreds more American military and thousands more Iraqis die to stop it.

if bush and the neocons get away with the lies and the fearmongering and the elective war? well, again, there's a better than even chance that will happen anyway. I'm not sure the justice is worth the lives.

And the war (or more accurately, the invasion and occupation) is wrong.

This wasn't a blowjob that affected maybe THREE people directly.

And besides, he would just start another war somewhere else. The economy and foreign relations can't stand another 3 years of shrub, especially shrub with acceptable poll ratings. He would just start spending some of that "political capital" that he would figure he earned for ending the war.
