3. Considering how low ...
... his numbers have been dropping, and how quickly, we'd better be on the lookout for polls that add, in print so tiny it's unreadable: "Margin of error: 27%"

6. ROFL @ Rasmussen Reports
President Bush Job Approval
Updated Daily by Noon Eastern

Saturday November 12, 2005--Forty-six percent (46%) of American adults approve of the way George W. Bush is performing his role as President. Fifty-three percent (53%) of Americans Disapprove of the President's performance.

This is the President's highest Job Approval Rating in over a month. However, it remains to be seen whether this latest blip is anything more than statistical noise.

7. You know how partisans tend to
alter the polls by getting their friends to vote, sometimes multiple times--well, where are the repugs on this one? These numbers are an outrageous indictment of everything they have been pushing for so long.
I don't know if they can let him get below 30%. If he dips that low, it seems time for a resignation speech before he takes down every one else that can't walk on stilts through the sh*t.

13. the speech didn't help
headlines on our local paper "Bush Fires Back", I was amused yesterday on seeing that headline and overhearing one man look at the paper, snort and quipped to his buddy "It should be 'Bush BACK fires'.."

Firstly, bush* contends that critics of him and Iraq invasion are hypocrites...although he didn't take direct aim at 'regular people' who now disagree with him - are these 'regular people' also hypocrites?

I averaged out 3 polls that contained numbers from onset of the Iraq Invasion and the most recent Nov. 2005 numbers

March-April 2003....Approve 71% Disapprove 25%
November 2005.......Approve 33% Disapprove 64%
Spread..............Approve 38% Disapprove 39%

If you previously supported invading Iraq and now don't support Iraq invasion - you may be a hypocrite.

Secondly - bush* points to Dems you voted for the war. Sounds like a fight at an elementry school playground "waaaahhhh - you did TOOOO!"
What happened to responsibility and being accountable?

and lastly - Dragging up 2004 campaign, passing the buck, ducking responsibility in an event that is suppose to honor our troops does not honor our troops. 2063 have died ( http://www.antiwar.com/casualties/ ) and bush* wants to throw mud.

15. There have been posts and small news articles lately about
the right-wing pushing back at the Democrats. I can't believe he used a ceremony such as this to make that speech. This asshole has to go. The problem is, if he ever quits, we get stuck with Cheney in the WH. This is a scenario that I've been worried about for a while.

17. The delusion of Bush's base (Warning ...rude post)
Edited on Sun Nov-13-05 01:30 PM by bonzotex
Don't underestimate the stupidity and self-delusion of Shrub's "base".

They can rationalize away almost any amount of corruption, death, lying, deficit, and bad policy.

The hard-core Busheviks won't waver as long as they think he is "one of them". That means: homophobic, sexually repressed, religiously hypocritical, racist and sexist. In other words, Bush represents good-ole' traditional conservative family values.

The only way he'll dip below 30% approval is if he gets caught doing something sexually disgusting or religiously incorrect.

If Laura gave Faux News some home video of Chimpy getting ass-fucked by Jimmy-Jeff Gannon/Guckert, while snacking on aborted fetuses, washing it down with straight Jim Beam under a pentagram drawn with Jenna and not-Jenna's menstrual blood on the oval office ceiling, that might shake some of the true believers loose.

Even then, the next day, wingnut pundits, would defend him as just trying to relax from hard day of president'n...his personal life should be off-limits!...decry the "politics of personal destruction"...demand an investigation into how libruls leaked the video...claim that Clinton did worse things...The video is a forgery and even if it's not, which it is, it was just a snapshot in time and doesn't reflect Shrub's true character. The video is inconclusive that Jimmy-Jeff's dick was actually inserted in Bush's anus, Quite often Bush uses a Staff member's penis or head to clean his anus as hygiene measure and there is nothing sexual about that. Even if the video was real, which it's not.
Despite the claims of the so-called "alternative press" that copious quantities of "santorum" are clearly shown on the video leaking from Bush's anus, Senator Santorum was at a fundraiser the day in question and couldn't possibly have been in the oval office.
The bloody fetuses could have been from any animal and not necessary humans and anonymous administration sources say that there is reason to suspect radical animal rights activist are involved. In any case, eating fetuses whether human or otherwise is not technically illegal even if Bush was eating them, which he wasn't.
Bloody pentagrams are not necessarily Satanistic, but rather associated with a number of religious traditions. It's well know that Prezinent Bush is a uniter, not a divider and there is always room in the Republican party for people of all religious persuasions.
Bush's positioning buns up on the desk made the Pentagram above him "right-side-up" making it not a Satanistic symbol at all, even if the video is not a forgery, which is is.
Despite Laura's voice-over commentary on the tape, she doesn't appear on the tape so speculation that she shot the tape is baseless librul fantasizing. The two giggling drunken girls playing tic-tac-toe on the walls with their bloody fingers may look like Jenna and not-Jenna, but we have no evidence that they know how play tic- tac-toe, even if the video is real, which it isn't.
Bush promised to bring dignity and integrity back to the White House and the laughter, cursing, and furniture smashing on the video are inconsistent with tone he set for his family and staff, thus proving the tape is a forgery. Besides, this is nothing compared to the willful destruction of Government property by the outgoing Clinton administration
It's well know that Dubya likes to drink sweet iced tea from Jim Beam bottles and prefers to throw the empties from his limo at homeless, lazy libruls. Claims by lawmakers that they have been hit by Jim Beam bottles thrown from Bush's limo are further proof He definitely doesn't smash them in the fireplace as shown in the obviously fraudulent video.

Scotty McClellan would remind the press gaggle that Bush's stance on anal sex and fetus consumption are well known and he won't comment on an ongoing investigation...Further speculation will just embolden he terrorists, discourage our troops, increase the number of abortions and encourage gays to marry.

Senator Harry Reid would be giving a statement as soon as he is released from the hospital after being hit in the head by a Jim Beam bottle tossed out of a Limo in the President's passing motorcade.

Senator Bill Frist would point out that Democrats repeated inability to avoid whiskey bottles tossed from limos is evidence that they are unfit to govern and can only criticize rather than propose solutions.

Rush Limbaugh would remind listeners of Bush's brilliant strategy to co-opt the librul agenda of incest, drunkeness, homo-ass-sex, and Satanism. "What Bush did was no more serious than a fraternity prank! These tax and spend libruls want to use this video to take your tax dollars so that lazy welfare mothers can video incest, drunkeness, homo-ass-sex, and Satanism in their own homes! I've told you before people, if the Democrats accuse the republicans of doing something bad, you can bet it's what the Democrats are doing themselves!"

Then you might see Bush's approval drop to say, 25-28% with a margin of error of 3%. Except for Fox and Rassmussen which have him at 30% and 29% respectively. Sean Hannity would point to the higher Fox poll numbers and predict Bush is on the rebound and despite recent librul attempt to criminalize conservative politics, the American people strongly support Bush's planned cuts in social services and generous tax cuts to the wealthy.
