Condi '08, WTF???
I pulled in to the parking lot this morning at work and behold the car parked in the spot in front of me has a Condi '08 sticker on it.

Is this serious? They also had a Power Of Pride USA sticker on the car. Not to mention that it was a high dollar Cadillac Escalade.

16. Nah, the poster was referring to the driver...
as one of the 2% of black people who support bush.

18. During the summer of '96 there were rumours that Dole would pick Powell
as his running mate. Overnight, I saw >Dole-Powell '96< bumper stickers on luxury cars in downtown DC, particularly parked infront of the Hecht's department store. That trial balloon lasted for about a week - the stickers disappeared just as quickly.

Maybe Condi will break the color barrier in American presidential politics, but I think not. Her close working relationship with Hadley is surely not going to help her chances, if it turns out that he was Woodward's initial source.

20. If Rice runs in 08 she will get a lot of support from Blacks.
Many would want to help elect the first black President, and if they feel she has a shot...

That is why she represents the most dangerous option for dems.

21. Personally, I think
McCain is a much bigger threat. 11% of 2004 voters where black and 88% of them voted for Kerry. Gore and Clinton also took about 90% of the black vote. From my experience, most blacks don't buy Rice, just like they don't buy Powell. Ever see the Chappelle show skit "Racial Draft?" She will obviously take some of the black vote, but I doubt it would be a drastic amount. She is too tied to Bush, and we all know about Bush's approval ratings with blacks.

23. I don't think Chappelle represents a lot of voting blacks
I am sure a lot of middle class blacks would vote for a black candidate, regardless of party affiliation.

Especially if aligned with McCain.

10. This is nonsense..
.... first off, the pukes are already absolutely convinced they will be running against Hillary. I hope with every fiber of my being they are wrong :)

But given that, they look around and think that Condiliar would be a good candidate to run against her. They think they'll pick up some African-American votes, they think Condo is respected.

I would bet $10 against $5 that Condi is not the nominee.

11. I've noticed the Condi push, too
Edited on Fri Nov-18-05 09:01 AM by Hoosier Democrat
The other day, I was checking out the new Rassmussen polls (just to see what the other side is saying). In their poll of GOPers about their choice for the 2008 nomination, Condi comes in a very strong second after Rudy G. McCain is a close third. I couldn't believe it.

With Jeb smart enough to opt out of 2008, the BFEE needs someone to carry on for them. They despise McCain and know that Rudy can't win the nomination. Also, the fact that Condi enjoys an (ahem) "Close" relationship with Daddy Bush is also a plus.

I really hope they nominate Condi. All polling I've seen shows Hillary, Gore, and Edwards all crushing her in a landslide.

17. I would like to see the polls you are talking about.
The only ones I have seen have Hillary getting thumped by the Repub candidate (which is what I would expect). Not that it really matters three years out. Regardless, ABH in 08.

Check out Rassmussen Reports. They are a Rethug polling firm, but it's interesting to see inside the mind of GOP primary voters.

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/

It's fun to see that if Rudy, McCain, and Condi are removed from the 2008 equation, the top GOP choice is NEWT GINGRICH!!!! (Oh, please, please, please let it happen!!):applause:

24. 39% would definitely vote against Hillary and
30% would definitely vote for her according to Rasmussen. Yet one more bit of information confirming that we will lose big if Hillary is our nominee.

27. Condy could theoreticaly be dangerous...
inthat she could attract a lot of female and a lot of black votes just based on her being one (sorry but people actualy vote that way).

But she would likely alianate a bunch of the repuke base (sorry but they have a buch of racist wakos in their base).

I doubt she will be their nomine.
