Wow. It certainly seems that way to me! What does everyone think?

Found this at KOS.
Talking Points:
*Today, Donald Rumsfeld turned against President Bush on the Iraq war.
*With the President out of the country in Asia, Donald Rumsfeld said in a Washington Post interview the President did not heed his warning about preparing for problems in Iraq.
*Donald Rumsfeld also claimed that his opposition to the President on Iraq was hidden in a memorandum that has not been released to the public.
*Hence, Donald Rumsfeld also turned on President on the issue of the truthfulness.
*When the Secretary of Defense questions the President's Iraq policy, that is a sign that there is something wrong.
*In light of Donald Rumsfeld's criticisms of President Bush's Iraq policy, today, any suggestion by House Republicans that Democratic critique of President Bush is unpatriotic, un-American, or against the troops is unjust.
*The war in Iraq is not going as advertised.
*When even the President's own Secretary of Defense is questioning the President's actions leading up to the war on Iraq, it is time for the country to have a serious debate.

Holy crap! What's up with this?

Peace.

1. Rummy knows how Rovian politics work.
He knows that Bush is running out of people to blame, so he figures he's gonna be next. At least, he knows he'll come before Bush's hearthrob Condi.

2. Doesn't know when the war started? Doesn't know if something is
classified? Doesn't know how to adjust the HVAC setting in his office?

THIS MOTHERFUCKER IS IN CHARGE?

:wtf:

3. Looks like his memo was a CYA feature, but
snip//
Some might quibble with Rumsfeld's description of the historical moment. At the time he wrote the memo, dated October 15, 2002, Congress had recently voted to give President Bush complete authority to invade Iraq and topple Saddam Hussein. A White House spokesman had just confirmed that invasion plans were on Bush's desk -- detailed plans, we now know, which Rumsfeld had been shaping and hammering and editing for much of the previous year.

He was in it up to his eyeballs and complicit. Rumsfeld gets no sympathy from me, w/o having seen the memo!

5. I'd still like to see this memo
"a warning blast, an attempt to do "everything humanly possible to prepare"

So, Shrub was clueless as to the consequences of starting a major war? Why does that not surprise me?

And I like how Rumsfeld deftly brushed aside his own responsibility while sounding disappointed.

6. I was listening to a local talk radio program today
and they were talking about another article in the Washington Post about how bush only has day to day contact with Laura, his mom, condi and Karen Hughes. He's isolated himself from his staff. I was wondering if anyone else has seen or heard of this article.

7. Yes. It was all over DU a few days ago. He's supposedly not
even talking to Poppy. I think the Washington Times ran the story.
