They called me a coward in '03 - their modus operandi
Edited on Fri Nov-18-05 08:27 PM by BOSSHOG
a fine young bush backer called me a coward and suggested that I join the Army and go to Iraq to prove my love of our country because I opposed our going there for any reason. This occurred at my favorite watering hole. I showed him my military retiree ID card and my CPO coin, told him about my tour in a combat zone and asked him to share with us his military duty. He said he hasn't served "yet." He finished his beer and left the bar. Are they more pathetic then ignorant or what? No doubt that young man could be elected to congress as a republican.

My apologies to those who have already heard this story. It has really stuck with me.

5. No I haven't
And I didn't start the conversation. Me and my fellow old farts were enjoying another day of retirement, drinking beer, lying and ogling the youngin behind the bar when this yahoo at the end of the bar just started barking like a rabid dog. Unfortunately my watering hole sustained some serious damage from Katrina but we hope to have it up and running soon.

2. An intern in my office
was spouting off about the war and Democrats as pussies. I suggested that if he loved the war so much he should go on down to the Army Recruiting center. He said they wouldn't be interested in him. I said, "Oh no, you're prime material. I'd be glad to drive you down there." That shut him up.

4. that's typical........
...they're always full of big talk. They throw around pretty words like democracy, patriotism and freedom. But in the end, most of them are not willing to back up those words with actions.

Good for you for pointing that out.
