Matalin Word of the Day: "Misremembrance" & Now I know Love must be Blind

Unbelieveable. Mary Matalin on Imus. Defending Scooter to the absolute hilt. All he did wrong was to commit some "Misremembrances.", "He will be completely exonerated." The woman has absolutely no conscience.

And then she just raved about what a wonderful ("the best") journalist ever, Bob Woodward. "Poor Woodward", "Poor Scooter". With that, I now know for certain, Woodward has been bought. Hell, they probably all get kickbacks from his books.

She also, once again, trashed Joe Wilson. He's the one "who lied."

How in the world can Carville stay with her? Love must be blind.

The ultimate defense argument. Reminds me of that scene in the musical Chicago, where a woman prisoner proclaimed her innocence - that her husband died because he backed into her knife - 17 times!

She was mumbling semi-incoherently as Imus let her hang herself by asking simple questions every now and then "Was Russert lying?" "So Scooter "disremembered" those 7 people who told him Plame was a CIA operative but only remembered that Russert had told him?" "Do you think George Bush and Dick Cheney ever lied about anything?...Not even maybe about (Cheney) eating one more porkchop than he was supposed to?" In response to Mary's worry about Scooter's children, Imus said well "Tricycle will be home taking care of them won't she?"

Matelin was full of nothing but praise for Woodward, somehow forgetting his massive ethical breach in going on teevee and pointedly commenting on issues which he failed to disclose he was involved in up to his ears.

Matelin interrupted the call to mumble something to her kids, who are supposedly horrible brats, about brownies, as they left for school.

It sounded to me like she was on some sort of tranquilizing or mood altering drugs...at one point, early on, she broke into a chorus of "Who shot the sheriff" and ranted about the horrible criminalization of politics. I wonder how that got started? In response to a question Imus posed, at the suggestion of Jonathan Alter, she remembered everything about an episode of K-Stree in which she testified that the leaker was Scooter Libby which contradicted her earlier assertion that people can't remember anything. Then she had to explain why she could remember that particular episode.

All in all it was bathos wrapped in illusion, to paraphrase John Murtha....and it shows how desperate they are getting...

One interesting thing she said was that she was interviewed by the FBI not the GJ, and she said it was horrible and she called Carville crying after it was over. LOVE it.

That is why they are never seen together.

She is a charter member of the White House Iraq Group (WHIG) and her name has been bandied about several times as a contributor to getting the "misinformation" and "misrememberce" out to go to their fake war.

Educated people call them lies. And lies they are but we know how these guys love to toss around a new word or two to soften their "image." Matalin is another one in the clique into covering their ass and maintaining group loyalty. Maybe in the near future someone will be talking about her "misremembering." Fitzpatrick is stepping on lots of toes and right now and Smary Mary doesn't know if she is feeling her own toes in her shoes or if the Special Prosecutor getting awfully close.
