First, let’s get the civics lesson straight.

It is no more unpatriotic to oppose the war in Iraq than to support it, no more un-American to want to withdraw troops than to favor a buildup.

It may be an attack on President Bush to disagree with the administration’s policy in Iraq, but it is not an attack on American troops who are dutifully carrying out that policy.

And while patriots come in all stripes — some have served in the military, some have not — it is particularly suspect and silly for those who have not served to question the loyalty of those who have.

Equating congressional hawk and decorated war veteran John Murtha with liberal ideologue Michael Moore, as did Bush spokesman Scott McClellan, is particularly out-of-bounds. The personal attack from the White House followed remarks by Rep. Murtha, D-Pa., describing the war in Iraq as “a flawed policy wrapped in illusion” and calling for a troop pullout.

2. When I was in a combat zone
Edited on Tue Nov-22-05 03:59 PM by BOSSHOG
me and my teammates did not feel "supported" by those back home who called for escalation of activities. Especially when those doing the calling chose not to put their cocks on the line. I'm a proud bush basher and the neanderthal chickenhawk motherfuckers around here know not to question my patriotism. Bring the kids home now and send the corresponding savings to hurricane relief victims; and send our war heroes to the french quarter for a weeks furlough. Don't pay any attention to me, I'm just a candy assed liberal.

5. Wow, now I never thought of it that way.....
..that is, escalation would hurt the troops' morale more than wanting them to come home ? Makes sense to me. An a  for you and your service to our country too!

7. Thanks and
it is a pretty close poll considering we have the largest naval fleet (in the world?) right here in Norfolk City :hi: And, let's not forget one of the largest master jets bases that the BRAC is trying to shut down in Virginia Beach. That must help troop morale over thar' too :silly:

9. And did ya'll see the irony of a Bush Quote here:
If you didn't get to read the whole article:

“...It is so ironic that we are having this debate tonight because on April 9, 1999, Governor Bush criticized President Clinton for not having a strategy . This is his quote in the Houston Chronicle: 'Victory means exit strategy, and it is important for the President to explain to us what the exit strategy is.’”
