The claim that Wilson outed Plame
This the the current buzz in right-wing circles...they aer desperately, pathetically trying to claw up anything to derail this case...that a snippet from Joe Wilson's Vanity Fair interview in 2004 outed Plame. The text in question;

In early May, Wilson and Plame attended a conference sponsored by the Senate Democratic Policy Committee, at which Wilson spoke about Iraq; one of the other panelists was the New York Times journalist Nicholas Kristof. Over breakfast the next morning with Kristof and his wife, Wilson told about his trip to Niger and said Kristof could write about it, but not name him.

The part they're keying on is "his wife", thinking that if that refers to Plame and not Kristof's own wife, which according to some breaks a CIA rule about contact to the press. So anyone have info on who "his wife refers to in the original Kristof article?

2. Okay, EVEN if the wingnuts' interpretation were true
which of course is a ridiculously big "if", the article says "Wilson told about his trip to Niger".

So he told about his trip to Niger. Okay. Does that say he told about Valerie Wilson being a covert CIA member? No. It is more than possible--and highly probable--that Wilson could talk about his trip to Niger without even MENTIONING Valerie Plame Wilson.

4. AND we know that Fitzgerald has questioned Wilson extensively.
AND don't they think that Fitzgerald covered this possibility?? Do they think Fitzgerald can't READ? (Such as, that he couldn't read the Vanity Fair article??)

And I suppose the wingnuts think that in that extensive questioning, Wilson lied to Fitzgerald and his investigators, and hid the "fact" that "he outed his own wife"??

AND YET WE DON'T SEE FITZGERALD INDICTING WILSON FOR LYING TO THE FBI??

In order to believe this crap, one has to believe that the entire Special Prosecution is a big set-up, with Fitzgerald and Wilson fooling everyone, and one has to believe that Fitzgerald is putting his ass on the line, knowing that at trial during cross-examination Scooty-boot's lawyers could easily cause an immediate dismissal of the case by pointing out "that Fitzgerald didn't mention that Wilson himself had already outed Valerie Wilson", instead indicting Scooty-boot Libby for "technicalities" underpinned by a "crime that never occurred."

Anyone really believe that Fitzgerald is so masochistic that he would set himself up for this to happen?

Rightwingnuts should be lobotomized. It would make them smarter.
